After a hiatus, the Town Greeter is back welcoming new neighbors to our amazing community!  When I first moved to town, I was a bit reluctant to have the Town Greeter visit me--it just sounded too old and suburban. She came anyway with a wonderful bag of coupons and items to introduce me to the local merchants and that was the beginning of my relationship with them. 14 years later, Iblast was born.

The first coupon I used from the Town Greeter was the free bag of dry cleaning from the New Canaan Cleaners (71 Pine Street 203.966.9616).  I stopped after the free bag because it was more convenient to have my husband drop the bag off at the dry cleaner in his office building.  Three years later, I ran into Dave Mandel, who owns the cleaners with his father Irwin, who remembered my name and asked me why I didn't come back.  I told him that it wasn't anything to do with his service, it was just the convenience.  Dave offered to pick my laundry up if I'd return as his customer.  I've been his loyal customer ever since.  He must have made this arrangement with a growing list of customers because within a year or two, he bought a delivery van!

The Town Greeter serves an invaluable role in our community. It introduces new residents to our town merchants and gives our merchants an opportunity to form a lasting relationship. It's the same principle behind the Iblast card but the Town Greeter reaches residents as soon as they arrive in town.

Call or e-mail for your welcome visit to receive coupons, gifts and information. If you know someone who just moved to town or is moving into town, please be sure to share the town greeter's information.

Best of luck to the new Town Greeter, Stephanie Radman!
