Why Our Library is so Loveable!
Many residents have been buzzing about our library lately. One resident was recently quoted in the paper saying that our library is so well used, it's in the process of being "loved to death". Now there's lots of chatter about a new library. We took a look at our library and here are some of things we found that make it so loveable:
- You can check out museum passes valid at a whole host of CT museums including the Maritime Aquarium, Mystic Seaport, Beardsley Zoo, Stepping Stones and other fun destinations!
- They have Sony Reader and Kindles available for check out!
- The children's room has bags of books based on a topic so you can just grab one and go!
- They've raised $344,481 towards their goal of $400.000!
- You can renew your books (and pay your fines) online!
- You can borrow a room for a meeting (we refer to them as Iblast headquarters)!
- They stayed open late, showed movies at night and made themselves available as our community headquarters during the black out!
- They hold classes on everything under the sun from Microsoft Word, to facebook to photo editing.
- They have an amazing series of visiting authors.
- They turned the library into a mini golf course for a recent fundraiser (now that's thinking outside the box!)!
