ARE YOU CONTAGIOUS?

One of our favorite phrases is "Give with the Life you have been Given". With BTG, most

of the time that involves helping Single Moms with home and yard repairs. Yet this month,

I watched two sets of passionate people, people who love to run and people who love to ride. Both groups hold the belief that there is importance in being personally involved in supporting a "cause" in the community. What I learned most about these giving and passionate friends is that as they do what they love, their passion spills out and is used for a purpose .... to lead by example and have an impact in the world around them.  

This is the 3rd year we have had a team of twelve run the Wild West Relay. It is a 200 mile adventure relay race from Ft. Collins to Steamboat Springs; 12 runners, 36 legs, non-stop 30 hour race through all kinds of conditions to reach their goal. Their goal of reaching the finish line raises awareness and financial support for BTG projects.

 This is our 2nd year to host a Be the Gift motorcycle ride. What a sight it was seeing those involved all leathered up, out on a crisp Saturday morning for a 70 mile ride with the intent of raising money for the work and service that we do. As they thundered off one by one you could see them lean back and start to enjoy the ride. What I learned was they not only enjoyed riding together but they enjoyed changing lives together a whole lot more.  

In both events we witnessed and experienced people with excitement, courage, generosity and excellence. They gave their best, were positive, excuse free and most of all their life was contagious. As I read the Biblical account of Jesus the one picture I see is that His life was contagious. He passed the torch upon us to present the Love of God to the world around us. So my question is, what are they catching from us? We are God's plan for this world...there is no plan B. He uses people like you and me, with our passions of life to live a life of spiritual significance. Let love and passion spill out from our lives and see what people catch.
