                                What does love look like?

There is such clarity in the Bible of loving God and loving others. You see loving God brings our existence into a synchronized relationship with the way we think, the way we live and the way of communication with the creator of the universe, the creator of life, the creator of everything.  Just think how wide and long or how high and deep that will move us and take us if we really grasp that concept and grasp how God really wants to connect with us (read Ephesians 3:17-18).

Then with loving others it brings our life into focus of the reason we exist. Let's read 1 Peter 4:7-11 from the Message Bible, "Stay wide awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless and to always be cheerful. Be generous with the different things and gifts that God gave you, passing then around so all get in on it: if its words, let it be God's words; if its helps, let it be God's hearty help. That way, God's bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and He'll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything."

To live a life to the fullest where our cup is running over, where our life feels complete and where life makes sense will compel us to love people like God loved the world. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world (people) that He gave His only begotten Son (His best). So for us to be Christ like or a God inspired person it will take us to place of loving people like never before and giving your best to them when you never thought you could.

Mother Teresa said, "there is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread". Augustine summed it up like this. "What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of people. That is what love looks like".

We the BTG staff and volunteers have the opportunity to meet show God's love and serve many Single Moms and Widows throughout the year.  We receive our reward when we see the finished home now safer and functioning better, healthier and a nice place for their family to live. Thought we would share a few of the "thanks" we receive.

"You improved my house in ways that make it both safer and nicer for my daughter and grandchildren who live with me and which I could not have done for them. May God Bless you in your continuing endeavors."  Iris

"All I know to say is thank you and God Bless you- you have no idea what your work does for us. The impact reaches far beyond  anything you imagine" Tara

"We Carrie Adams are genuinely blessed to have your help and we will never forget this wonderful gift that you brought into our lives. it is not every day that you meet people who are so generous with their time to help others. We hope to pay it forward someday." Carrie

"Thank you for gathering around my family.  The miracle of your goodwill and the positivity of your kindness takes over some darkness and desperation that we could choose to feel for having a lack of resources.  Our home has been blessed by you.  So, when I am feeling sad or like nobody cares, I will remember you. I am glad that my son can feel provided for. A child knows when there is peace and also knows when there is chaos.  You made my home bright. Thank you.  M.G. (a grateful single parent)"

There is always opportunity for you to do some networking and spread the word about what we do. I am attaching a DVD- it is short about 10 minutes. It highlights what we do and has testimony from some of the Single Moms we have helped. Thanks for being part of Be the Gift. Drop us an email and keep in touch.
