MOTORCYCLE BENEFIT RIDE

AUGUST 18, 2012

As you might imagine, home repair projects take a considerable amount of money to start and finish. Prices have gone up for materials and so August has once again become our Fund Raising Month.

We are blessed to be doing our 2nd Annual Motorcycle Benefit Ride. If you are a rider and live in the Denver or Northern Colorado area we invite you to participate this year.

This year we are doing a poker run with Registration at 9:00 am. Last bike out at 10:15. MotoAdventure Kawasaki 6385 Byrd Loveland, CO.

Come out and support BTG and have some fun. Last year we had people from every walk of life put on their leathers, fire up their bikes and ride for the cause of helping single moms. It was a great sight to behold. Help us spread the word, tell your friends and family. We hope to see you there. We will be involved as what they call a  "Cager"- driving our car.   More info and donation opportunity  www.bethegift.com

DEAD FISH SWIMMING

Happy Fathers Day to all of the fathers out there. I know it's a day when we receive gifts and thanks, but if you think about it it's really a day where all fathers should say thank you to their families. Because from our own earthly Father, to our heavenly Father and to our family, within these three sources it often brings our life into focus, drives us to success and causes us to believe anything is possible. From these relationships we are inspired, gain energy and obtain wisdom from one generation and pass it on to next generation.

I'll focus one part of my life. My dad and mom started this ministry in 1973 and named it Motivation for Ministry. I started working at Motivation in 1990 and my desk was about 8 feet from my fathers. As you can imagine we had quite the conversations over the years ranging from music to sports, family to vacations, politics to ministry and everything in between. Dad and Mom passed the torch of the ministry to Marilyn and me in September of 2008. With their permission, we named the ministry "Be the Gift".

I'd like to share some of my dad's thoughts and wisdom

that I wrote down over the years about ministry and life

as he shared with me from his desk as a father, mentor

and leader. I selected nine of them and added some scripture later after pondering and reflecting on his

beliefs and concepts.

1.  Every believer is in full-time ministry, God has no part

    time help.

2.  Few will pay the price to become faithful and put their

hand to the plow  Matthew 9:37-38 - Then He said to His

disciples, "The Harvest is plentiful but the workers are

few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out

    workers into his harvest field."

3. The church is always only one generation away from

extinction. If the believers of any time period fail to share

the Good News of Jesus Christ, they will be the last

Christians.Matthew 28:18-20 - Then Jesus came to them

and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been

given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all

nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of

the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to

obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am

with you always, to the very end of the age.

4.  What's on your mind and in your heart is what comes out

     to others.

Proverbs 4:23 - Guard your heart above all else, for it

determines the course of your life.

5.  You can see where someone is going with what comes

     out of their mouth

6.  It's the Who, not the Do...but we Do to share the Who!

7.  Dream what is impossible and see it...with vision you'll

    always get what you see

Habakkuk 2: 2-3 - Then the Lord said, write the vision

and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads

it, for the vision is yet for an appointed time. But at the

end it will speak and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait

for it, because it will surely come.

8.  God isn't looking for people to live for Him, looking for

someone who will die for Him

Romans 4:18 - for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if

we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live

or die, we are the Lord's.

9.   Even a dead fish can swim down stream (my favorite)

Romans 12:2 - Do not confirm to the pattern of this

world, but be transformed by the renewing of your

mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what

God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will.
