BTG just finished a tremendous campaign by collaborating with Way-FM Christian radio to bless Single Mothers with home repair projects in May. Of course the month of May features Mothers Day so it seems only right to help a mom. We have many volunteers and everyone is fired up because, well it's the season to help a mom. So what happens when there's no radio station involved and it's not Mothers Day, when our earthly inspiration and motivation are gone?

In 2 Timothy 4:2 Paul calls us to, "Be ready
in season and out of season". Author
Oswald Chambers deals with this scripture
by writing "seasons don't refer to time, but
to us - 'Be ready in season, out of season,"
whether we feel like it or not. If we do only
what we feel inclined to do, some of us
would never do anything. Some of us are
unemployable in the spiritual realm,
spiritually feeble and weak, we refuse to
do anything unless we are supernaturally inspired. The proof that we are in right relationship with God is that we do our best whether we feel inspired or not".
He finishes this thought by saying, "One of the worst traps a Christian can fall into is to become obsessed with his own exceptional moments of inspiration. When the Spirit of God gives you a time of inspiration and insight, if you say - "Now I will always be like this for God." No, you will not and God will make sure of that. Those times are entirely a gift of God. You cannot give them to yourself when you choose and if you'll only do something when God keeps you consciously inspired, that's a problem for all. If you make a god of your best moments, you will find that God will fade out of your life and never come back until you are obedient in the work He has placed closest to you and have learned not to make a fetish of your rare moments with Him."
So my friends, lets attempt to be ready to be our best for the Lord everyday, in every place, in every situation; whether we feel inspired or not, have the energy or not, have the time or not...as Oswald says, it's the proof of our right relationship with God!
