Chris and Marilyn Johnson - BE THE GIFT
DECEMBER 2011

Is this the end or the beginning? Is it the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012 ?? It is such a moving time of year when we reflect on the years successes and failures and then make resolutions for life changes for the coming year all at the same time. It is said that through our successes and failures we develop and mold into the people we are today. This in turn shapes our families and then this produces the kind of community we have and live in. As we all seem to go through this process in the next few weeks, I know and want to believe we just need to be big dreamers and be part of  a community of big dreamers.  As you reflect and start to plan for the coming year, let me share this stirring passage written by Don Nori from his book, "The Love Shack."

"I dream of a day when the graveyards of this world will no longer hold prisoner the creativity, passion, and tenacity that God gave to humanity to bless the world. No plan God has designed will go uncompleted, no hope will remain unfulfilled, no dream will end before it is finished because this fellowship of the saints, composed of ordinary men and women throughout the earth who have abandoned themselves completely to God's plan, will arise with a passion and a commitment to do whatever God requires of them.Their ability, magnified by their union with God through His indwelling Spirit, will surpass anything this world has ever seen, or could ever hope to see."

Please allow me to leave you with this blessing. Remember each of you are gifted, equipped and a person of destiny. His Grace is sufficient for you and His angels have charge over you.You are blessed coming in and blessed going out.You have peace that passes all understanding and supernatural wisdom and joy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper as you serve Him all the days of your life. You are loved, chosen and accepted by Almighty God designed for a purpose.  Dream Big!!!

Merry Christmas. From the Johnson Family

This month we honored over 50 Single Moms at our banquet. We enjoy meeting and supporting the ladies in the community. They received dinner, presents for themselves and their children, prayer, love, affirmation and encouragement.

We at BTG believe Single Moms are hero's who sacrifice so much giving and doing the most important job in the world.... raising their children.

WOW. What a fast and furious year.  Be the Gift is entering it's 4th year.  We are blessed and humbled to have each of you in our lives.  NONE of what we do would be possible without our volunteers, supporters and those of you who encourage us to continue in the work and ministry that we do.

Both of our two children are finished with college as of this month.  HORRAY.  Katie is working now and Andrew is looking for a teaching job.  Please keep him in your prayers. They both are a delight in our lives and help with BTG as well.  Giving is contagious and we know it is God's way of demonstrating HIS LOVE on a daily basis.

Of course home repairs for the Single Moms is our main focus, however this year we spread our wings to also assist with the emotional and spiritual needs of our moms.

This past year BTG

* Completed home repair projects for Single Moms in over 40 homes

* Used over 100 volunteers for these projects

* BTG hosted a summer picnic and pool party for families of Single Moms

* Partnered with a local florist to deliver to their work place over 80 bouquets to honor Single Moms the

   week of Mother's Day

* Partnered with a local dental group to provide a Free Dental Day for single Moms and their kids,

70 received cleanings, fillings and crowns

* Collaborated with Applebee's Restaurant with a project called "Giving Tree" where over 90

children of Single Moms receive Christmas Gifts.
