Chris and Marilyn Johnson - BE THE GIFT

Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God
our Father means that we must care for
orphans and widows in their troubles and
refuse to let the world corrupt us.

Three words that hold you back!!

I want to focus on three words that I believe have plagued Christians for at least 2000 years.  Three words that have limited our success, restricted our effectiveness and constrained us from ever accomplishing all that God has for each of us.  I'll take you to Luke 9 where it says that Jesus has compassion for the people on the hill side, but not only Jesus, but the disciples do as well.  In verse 12: the Twelve Disciples came to Jesus and said, "Send them home to eat and a find a place to rest because we are in a remote place."  Then Jesus replied, "You give them something to eat".  Now here comes the three dreaded words that will hold any of us back if we say them...the Twelve answer,
"WE ONLY HAVE"  five loaves of bread and two fish."  You see they already made a decision without ever putting what they "Do Have"  into God's hand.

I believe the worst misconception for a Christian is in
not believing that God will work a miracle through their life for
the things and people they have compassion for.

Here's the real deal; everyday we meet people that are in a remote place in their life and everyday we have compassion for these people.  We get a chance every month of the year to help single moms, orphans and many others.  But we have already made decisions by saying, "I only have" two weeks vacations,  "I only have" so much money, "I only have" so much time or "I only have" so much education, talent or abilities without ever putting them in God's hand to work that miracle.  What Jesus said 2000 years ago still applies today, You give them something to eat, you go and take care of the orphan, you be the miracle to that single mom, you give to a "Be the Gift" project and help change their life.  My friends wherever your compassion lies with people that are in a remote place in their life, God will take what you have and multiply it to achieve His plan for your life and His people.

We enjoy hearing from you.  Love and God Bless
