YOUR MOMENT HAS COME
As many of you know, Marilyn and I have been working in Youth and Outreach Ministry for the past 20 years, as well as with Motivation for Ministry.  We are excited to announce that as of November 1st, we will be working Full Time with Be the Gift. We began Be the Gift (a Division of Motivation for Ministry) a little over a year ago, and have seen incredible growth and have been blessed to work with so many volunteers and single parents. We have witnessed amazing connections in our community.  As with anything, there is so much we want and can do, we just need the time to do it- and we know THIS IS THE TIME.  WOW- I can hardly believe it.

I think I know how Peter felt when Jesus called him to jump out of the boat to walk with Him.  It's astonishing in what took place in Peter's life leading up to that leap of faith. First of all when Peter got in the boat and headed to the other side, I'm not sure Peter knew where or why he was going in that direction.  But whether Peter knew it, could identify it or even understand it, he was positioned for success.  Why, because he trusted Jesus that he was in the right place and at the right time.  Then when Peter saw Jesus, it was in his heart to walk with Him on the lake. Jesus said "Come on out." You see when opportunity arises we need only do what God puts on our hearts to do.  If Peter worried or doubted God's ability to work beyond him at that moment, then Peter's hearing Jesus in the moment  would have been impaired; thus missing an opportunity of a life time.

I don't know about you my friends, but I can't tell you how many times I felt like I was just drifting.  In that boat we call life-- not knowing why God has me going in this direction at a time like this.  If we can learn one thing that led Peter to that moment of walking with Jesus on the water it is this; Peter trusted the love of Jesus for him in that moment  more than anything else.  When we trust God's love in each moment, then we will know how to live free.  The more free we are, the more God can use us in those moments.

Here's our problem. Anything we do to try to guarantee stability on our own terms will actually rob us of the freedom to simply follow Him today.  The greatest freedom God can give us is to trust His ability to take care of us each day.  Why, because whether you know it, can identify it or even understand it you are positioned for success right where you are at this very time in life.  At any moment you will have the opportunity to take that leap of faith.  Don't miss out on an opportunity of a life time by doubting God's love for you in each moment of life or by resorting to your own wisdom of trying to figure out your own future.  You see moments lead to experiences, experiences make a life, and then this life becomes your destiny.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.  HAVE A BLESSED FALL
project update
One of the projects we did this month was to help another single mom with two great children. A wonderful team of volunteers worked on her deck and restored it nicely. I once heard someone say "I'd rather one would walk with me than merely point the way."

We love the opportunity to walk with, help and embrace the life that God wants his children to share together.

Isaiah 58:12 (amplified) You'll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.
