Free for members, or with Museum admission.
Drop-in all day, no reservations required.
Woodland Hike
Sunday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m.
Conducted by Virginia Master Naturalists, this informative hike covers a mile of trails in both woodlands and fields and touch on the historic ruins of Belmont's past. Please wear sturdy footwear and meet outside the Visitor Center.

Landscape Oil Painting Workshop
Feb 18, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Marjorie Perrin, Artist and Educator
How do artists capture the mood and light effects in landscape? In this workshop, participants explore how to use color and form to create an expressive landscape painting. A demonstration shows how to see color and simple shapes as a starting point and how to create atmospheric perspective and depth while developing individual styles. Students will work from their own photographs.
This program has been organized by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and is funded, in part, by the Paul Mellon Endowment.

A National Historic Landmark, Gari Melchers Home and Studio is one of just 30 of America's most significant artists' spaces included in the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Historic Artists' Homes and Studios consortium.
Gari Melchers Home and Studio is home to the official Stafford County Visitor Center which is open daily 9 am - 5 pm.
