Give a Kid Smile

Each year on the first Friday in February, thousands of the nation's dentists and their dental team members provide free oral health care services to children from low-income families across the country.  The ADA's Give Kids A Smile® program enhances the oral health of large numbers of needy children.

The 2010 Give Kids a Smile Dallas will be a two-day event, February 4 and 5, at the Pediatric Dental Suite located at Martin Luther King Family Clinic.  Dallas County Dental Society (DCDS) is partnering with ChildCare Group, which is responsible for providing care for thousands of children from low-income families.  DCDS pediatric dentists will be providing the dental work, with a goal of treating at least 200 children.  Dr. Dane Hoang and Dr. Courtney Keel will be participating in this event along with other pediatric dentists include Drs. Harold Simpson, Mark Kogut, Alex Villasenor, Donna Barefield, John Roberts, Jason Clapp, Jessica Bell, Brian Collins, and Melissa Rozas.

Space Management and Esthetic Restorations in Pediatric Dentistry
Friday, March 12, 2010, 10:30 am  - 11:30 am
Dane Hoang, DDS, MS

By restoring primary teeth, some restorations may act as a natural space maintainer -- preventing the loss of arch length and the need for complex orthodontic treatment at a later stage. The potential benefits of using space maintaining appliances include reduced prevalence or severity of crowding, ectopic eruption, and tooth impaction- ATPA Dane bionot to mention the potential for considerable cost savings by reducing the need for future orthodontic treatment. A must see for general practitioners, Dr. Hoang's presentation will examine a variety of different esthetic restorations and the use of space maintainer appliances available in pediatric dentistry.
