Pig virus contaminates rotavirus vaccines, but FDA says no problem

[Didi says: Oh Mother Africa! what are they doing to you? Who gets the most Rota virus vaccinations in this world? Isn't this how AIDS was spread, thru contaminated vaccines?
And dear Muslim & Jewish readers- how did PIG VIRUS get into the Rota vaccine except through using pigs to make it? Dear Readers: Speak up for yourselves; demand these vaccines be taken off the market!]

Rotavirus vaccines are commonly given to children, and this year's batch of vaccines made by GlaxoSmithKline and Merck are contaminated with a pig virus, the FDA recently discovered. So the FDA called a meeting to determine whether injecting a pig virus into the bodies of young children might be some sort of problem requiring a recall of the vaccines.

Can you guess what conclusion the agency reached? As reported by Reuters, the FDA concluded "...it was safe for doctors to resume giving patients Glaxo's Rotarix and continue using Merck's Rotateq. The agency said there was no evidence the contamination caused any harm..."

In other words, as long as they can bury the evidence and deny any link between vaccines and health problems -- which has been the standard excuse of the FDA for decades -- they can continue to claim the vaccines are safe enough to inject into little children.

Never mind the fact that the pig virus found in the vaccines actually causes a wasting disease in baby pigs, giving them intense diarrhea and causing them to rapidly lose weight. DNA from these viruses was detected in the "master cells" used to make the vaccines.

Suppressing the evidence of harm
An FDA advisory panel said the risk to human health from the viral contamination was only "theoretical." But of course it's easy to claim anything is "theoretical" if you suppress the evidence that it's real. By simply ignoring any reports of neurological side effects from the vaccine, the FDA can always claim there is "no evidence" of harm. Well, no evidence they're willing to accept as real, anyway.

And that's how vaccine science works these days: Suppress any evidence of harm, deny any links between vaccines and neurological problems, then okay practically any viral contamination from any animal and declare it's all safe to be injected directly into the bodies of infants and children.

So much for science, huh? The vaccine industry operates more like a cult than a scientific organization, and anyone who questions the beliefs of their cult is immediately branded a heretic and publicly condemned.

By the way, even though these rotavirus vaccines are contaminated with a pig virus, the companies that make them claim there is "no manufacturing or safety issue" with the vaccines. In other words, this is normal!

Think about that for a moment: The discovery that a vaccine being injected into children is contaminated with a virus from a pig doesn't even result in a product recall! It doesn't raise any red flags! It's just business as usual in the vaccine industry, where DNA from any number of diseased animals is often used in the vaccine formulas.

Last year, rotavirus vaccines earned nearly a billion dollars in revenues for Big Pharma. The risk of a child in the United States actually dying from a rotavirus infection is ridiculously small. What these kids need is good nutrition and vitamin D, not an injection of a questionable vaccine made with pig virus DNA.

Studies 'prove' drug works - as long as the manufacturer has paid the researchers

12 May 2010

It's medicine's own special circle : drug companies point to studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of their drug in the hope of selling more, but most studies are paid for by the drug company, who influences the outcome, and so can point to the study with some confidence in order to sell more drugs.

A new study - and one that wasn't funded by a drug company - has discovered that most drug studies will conclude that the remedy is effective, if the research has been paid for by the manufacturer. The study sponsor influences the result in a variety of ways, concludes a research study led by Prof Wolf-Dieter Ludwig, chairman of the drug commission of the German Medical Association. Aside from directly paying for the study, the drug company may also have direct, or indirect, financial links with the authors, and this could include payments for lectures, air travel to exotic locations, and the like. The results aren't the only thing open to bias. The all-important conclusion - the summary that most people focus on - is also open to interpretation, and can even differ from the actual results.

Lemon grass halts headaches much like aspirin

Popping an aspirin or an ibuprofen to relieve a headache has become commonplace in the industrialized world, but there are actually natural plants and herbs that are capable of helping to relieve pain as well. Lemon grass is a great example of this, as researchers from Griffith University recently released the results of a five-year study on the plant showing that it is capable of relieving headaches and migraines.

Indigenous Australians have long used lemon grass as a traditional medicine, and modern medicine is finally catching on to its therapeutic power. And in the recent study published in the journal, Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, lemon grass was found in tests to inhibit the clumping of human blood platelets in a similar fashion to the way aspirin does.

Professor Lyn Griffiths, Dr. Darren Grice and Dr. Kelly Rogers worked on the study which found that a specific extract in lemon grass, called eugenol, exhibited an effect similar to aspirin in preventing clots.

"Headaches and migraines cause abnormal activities in our bodies, such as altering our serotonin levels and interfering with the normal function of our blood platelets," explained Dr. Grice in a press release. "The compound [eugenol] inhibits platelets clumping together and the release of serotonin."

Dr. Grice also explained that, in general, traditional medicines like lemon grass have not been effectively studied in depth, and that many of them contain therapeutic values that are largely unknown.

"Nature's medicines hold enormous potential to cure health problems and traditional medicines are a source of good leads for new scientific discovery," he explained.

All of this makes perfect sense when considering that most pharmaceuticals are synthetic modifications of natural plants and herbs. Scientists will take a plant extract and modify it, patent it, and sell it to the public at a premium. But unlike natural extracts, pharmaceuticals almost always cause negative side effects and do not work as effectively as the real thing.

It is encouraging to see increased attention in science and medicine on natural plants and herbs because these hold the most potential in helping people to prevent and cure disease. Many medicinal plants and herbs are abundant, easy to grow and cultivate, and effective at targeting disease and increasing health.

As far as headaches go, white willow bark is also an effective remedy. Its compounds are what scientists use to produce commercial aspirin but, like lemon grass, it is far safer than the synthetic drug variety.

Alkaline Diet
http://www.alkaline-alkaline.com/ph_food_chart.html

Balanced body chemistry is of utmost importance for the maintenance of health and correction of disease. Acidosis, or over-acidity in the body tissues, is one of the basic causes of many diseases, especially the arthritic and rheumatic diseases.

All foods are "burned" in the body--more commonly called "digested"-- leaving an ash as the result of the "burning", or the digestion. This food ash can be neutral, acid or alkaline, depending largely on the mineral composition of the foods. Some foods leave an acid residue or ash, some alkaline. The acid ash (acidosis) results when there is a depletion of the alkali reserve or the diminution in the reserve supply of fixed bases in the blood and the tissues of the body.

It is, therefore, vitally important that there is a proper ratio between acid and alkaline foods in the diet. The natural ratio in a normal healthy body is approximately 4 to 1 -- four parts alkaline to one part acid, or 80% to 20%. When such an ideal ratio is maintained, the body has a strong resistance against disease. In the healing of disease, when the patient usually has acidosis, the higher the ratio of alkaline elements in the diet, the faster will be the recovery. Alkalis neutralize the acids. Therefore in the treatment of most diseases it is important that the patient's diet includes plenty of alkaline-ash foods to offset the effects of acid-forming foods and leave a safe margin of alkalinity.

A healthy body usually keeps large alkaline reserves which are used to meet the emergency demands if too many acid-producing foods are consumed. But these normal reserves can be depleted. When the alkaline-acid ratio drops to 3 to 1, health can be seriously menaced. Your body can function normally and sustain health only in the presence of adequate alkaline reserves and the proper acid-alkaline ratio in all the body tissues and the blood.

For optimum health and maximum resistance to disease, it is imperative that your diet is slightly over-alkaline. The ideal ratio, according to the world's foremost authority on the relationship between the acid-alkaline ratio in the diet in health and disease, Dr. Ragnar Berg, is about 80% alkali-producing foods and 20% acid-producing foods.

Below are tables of common foods with an approximate potential acidity or alkalinity, as present in one ounce of food.

If you think you have a food allergy, don't see your doctor

12 May 2010

If you think you have a food allergy, don't go and see your doctor. He or she may not be able to identify the allergy in the first place, and almost certainly won't have a good way of testing for it.

Researchers from Stanford University discovered medicine's ignorance and uncertainty about food allergies when they sifted through thousands of research papers. There isn't even an agreed definition of what a food allergy actually is, or how it differs from a food intolerance, and nobody seems to agree on a reliable test. The standard test - where a doctor gives a sample of the suspected allergy, and checks for allergic reaction - usually requires specialised staff, and is expensive.

Other tests include pricking the skin or taking blood, but they rarely produce absolute proof of an allergy. Too often, the doctor diagnoses a food allergy when, in fact, the patient has an intolerance. It's a life-changing diagnosis, and it's often wrong, say the Stanford researchers.

New way of correcting vision is safer than laser

19 May 2010

A new way of correcting your eyesight could be safer than current laser technology - and it is just as effective. The new technology, called phakic IOLs (intraocular lenses), has so far been reserved for extreme cases of myopia, or short-sightedness. However, a new review suggests it could be used for almost everyone who is thinking of laser eye surgery.

A review by independent researchers at the Cochrane Centre has discovered that phakic IOLs are: safer than laser surgery preferred by patients considering laser surgery, and just as effective. The one great advantage is that the phakic system is less intrusive. It involves placing a small lens in front of the eye, almost like a permanent contact lens, whereas laser technology involves removing parts of the cornea.

In their review, the Cochrane researchers looked at three trials that involved 132 patients who had either laser surgery or phakic IOLs. After a year, the same number had 20/20 vision, but the phakic patients had better contrast sensitivity. The phakic patients also preferred the procedure.

Food allergies and crohn's disease

01 January 1994
Food allergies are a major factor in the bowel condition Crohn's disease, and dietary changes can be as effective as corticosteroids in easing symptoms, according to UK researchers.

A multicentred trial of 136 patients found that 84 per cent who limited their food intake to "elemental diet", were symptom free after two weeks.

Elemental diet (in this case a product called E028, produced by Hospital Supplies in Liverpool, UK) is a formula of nutrients, often used to feed hospitalized patients.

When the patients reintroduced normal foods into their diets, they discovered many intolerances which triggered their bowel symptoms.

The most common allergens were maize; wheat, milk, and yeast; egg, potato, rye, tea, coffee; and apples, mushrooms, oats, and chocolate. Some 26 patients were intolerant of more than three foods.

"The process of food testing provides an effective strategy for long term management," the researchers concluded. "The group treated by diet had a significant advantage over those who received steroids in terms of time of relapse."
