If mainstream medicine really works, why are Americans so unhealthy? Opinion by by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
Did you ever wonder why such an alarmingly high percentage of Americans
are obese, diabetic, depressed and suffering from cancer, heart
disease, kidney disorders and skin problems? Now consider the fact that
Americans pay more per capita for health care than any other nation in the world.
Americans pay the highest prices, by far, for medications, medical
imaging scans, blood work, surgeries, chemotherapy and hospital stays.
And yet what does America have to show for it? The most universally
diseased population in the world -- and a nation on the verge of
bankruptcy caused in part by mainstream medicine.
But this isn't
a slam on America itself: It's an indictment of the mainstream medical
system that has been running a monopoly medical racket in America for
roughly the last hundred years. Under the system of monopolistic
medical practices enforced by the FDA, AMA, FTC and state medical
boards, "mainstream medicine" has taken a nation that was once
relatively healthy and turned it into a disease dystopia where patients
are actually taught that nutrition doesn't work and that they must
submit to patented chemicals in order to be "normal" or healthy.
Mainstream
medicine has reached such a level of insanity that its corporations now
claim intellectual ownership over nearly 20 percent of the human
genome. This has all been done to create a corporate monopoly over
human genes in the same way that mainstream medicine has already
created an FDA-enforced monopoly over isolated chemicals -- many of
which were ripped off from nature.
At the same time that
mainstream medicine has created for itself an oppressively-enforced
monopoly over medical treatments, it has brought America to the brink
of bankruptcy while delivering only pain, suffering and pharmaceutical
addiction to the masses. Mainstream medicine says poison is medicine
(chemotherapy) while teaching people that nutrition is useless. This is
the system of medicine that dismisses the value of sunlight, colon
cleansing, acupuncture and juice cleansing, but it firmly believes in
toxic vaccines, chemotherapy, cancer-causing mammograms and dispensing
a lifetime of poisonous medications to little babies who are now being
diagnosed with depression before they're even old enough to speak!
And
yet -- stunningly -- the promoters and pushers of mainstream medicine
claim it is a huge success! Remarkably, they even claim it is the only
system of medicine in the entire world that works.
Yep, out of
all the hundreds of other systems of medicine practiced around the
world -- most of which are based on medicinal herbs and natural
remedies, by the way -- the arrogant, ignorant promoters of mainstream
medicine have no shame standing in a room of chemo patients (most of
whom are dying from the chemotherapy) and proclaiming, "This is the
ONLY system of medicine in the entire world that has any merit
whatsoever!"
And, yes, they actually believe that. Mainstream
medicine may not be good at promoting health, but it is very, very good
at brainwashing otherwise intelligent people into believing that the
Emperor is, indeed, wearing glorious flowing robes even as he walks
down the street butt naked.
Ten realizations about "mainstream medicine" When it comes to whether mainstream medicine really works, here are ten important "reality check" realizations to keep in mind:
#1) If mainstream medicine really worked, then drug companies wouldn't have to commit scientific fraud to fake their clinical trials, would they?
#2)
If mainstream medicine really worked, then doctors, drugs companies and
the FDA wouldn't be afraid of competition from nutritional supplements
and natural remedies, and they wouldn't keep trying to censor or outlaw
those natural remedies.
#3) If mainstream medicine really
worked, drug companies would gladly test their drugs side-by-side with
nutritional remedies to see what works best. (http://www.naturalnews.com/028473_Z...)
#4)
If mainstream medicine really worked, health insurance costs would be
extremely low. The only reason health insurance costs so much is because mainstream medicine doesn't cure anybody, and patients stay sick, which costs more money to keep treating!
#5) If mainstream medicine really worked, then all the other countries
in the world would be looking at the U.S. health care system and
saying, "Wow, we want THAT!"
#6) If mainstream medicine really
worked, drug companies would be out of business because virtually
everybody would be healthy and therefore not need drugs on an ongoing
basis.
#7) If mainstream medicine really worked, doctors would
largely put themselves out of business by teaching patients how to take
care of their own health.
#8) If mainstream medicine really
worked, drug companies like Johnson & Johnson wouldn't have to pay
kickbacks (bribes) to nursing homes to entice them to push more of
their drugs onto helpless senior citizens.
#9) If mainstream
medicine really worked, the treatment of teenagers with chemotherapy
wouldn't have to be enforced by court order with the threat of arrest
and imprisonment of the parents (as happens in the U.S. today). (http://www.naturalnews.com/Abraham_...)
#10)
If mainstream medicine really worked, drug companies wouldn't need to
advertise on television to persuade people to take drugs they don't
need.
Now, to hear mainstream medicine pushers say it, the only
reason Americans are so sick and diseased right now is because -- get
this -- not enough people are taking enough medications!

Greatly Relieve Your Daily Stress with Tulsi Tea
Tulsi tea originated in India and the tropical regions of Asia over
5,000 years ago. This herbal wonder is respected and honored for its
rich antioxidant and adaptogenic properties, both of which are
beneficial to reducing stress and promoting mental clarity. Commonly
referred to as Holy Basil, this sacred plant is a principle herb in
India's holistic health practice of Ayurveda.
Tulsi is renowned
for its health-promoting and disease-preventing properties, and is
revered as being infused with healing powers. Known for its calming
effect, this tropical plant promotes wellness by strengthening the
body's immune system. It contains hundreds of favorable phytochemicals
- plant compounds containing protective and health-boosting properties.
The essential oils in Tulsi's green and purple foliage are an excellent
source of these immune-strengthening phytochemicals.
The leaves
of this aromatic plant are also rich in antioxidants. These vitally
important nutrients help slow down the process of excess oxidation that
can occur after prolonged periods of stress, and protect the body from
disease by neutralizing free radicals which can harm your cells and
tissues.
Tulsi, considered to this day to be one of the holiest
plants of modern Indians, contains powerful adaptogens. These are
agents that improve the capability of an organism to adapt to
stressors. Because of these agents, Tulsi tea, known in the Eastern
world as the "Queen of Herbs", can help restore balance to the mind and
help relieve stress and tension of daily life by soothing some of the
negative effects of stress on the nervous system.
There are many
other health benefits of drinking Tulsi tea. These include supporting
healthy vision to enhancing respiratory function, increasing
metabolism, and helping to support healthy blood sugar levels and
digestive health. It can refresh you when you feel tired, help with
clarity of the mind, and even aid in supporting normal cholesterol
levels.
Known in Ayurvedic practices as the "elixir of life",
the tea made from this aromatic shrub has a mild flavor and provides a
sweet yet spicy twist to the palate. It is naturally caffeine-free and
can be enjoyed either hot or cold by people of all ages.
Most
health food stores are now carrying organic Tulsi tea in its original
form or mixed with an array of different herbs, spices, and other tea
blends.

Airline Forms Partnership to Build First Biojet Fuel Plant in Europe
leading UK airline has committed to partner with a US based clean
energy company to establish a biofuel plant in East London. The plant
will make fuel from waste from the city of London destined for landfill
sites. The airline aims to reduce its net carbon emission contribution
by half by the year 2050 and sees this as a step in that direction. The
plant will convert 500,000 tons of household, agricultural, commercial
and industrial waste into 16 million gallons of biojet fuel. Letters of
intent have been signed by the airline to ensure it gets to buy all the
fuel produced by the plant. The airline is quoted as saying that the
plant will produce sufficient quantities of fuel for it to power its
entire operation out of London City Airport twice over. Plans are also
afoot to increase consumption of this virtually carbon neutral fuel
should this venture prove successful.
The chairman and chief
executive of the energy group is quoted as saying "The biojet fuel
project will efficiently convert biomass into clean, renewable fuels
and electricity and is completely carbon neutral; the plant will not
produce any polluting emissions or undesirable by products". The entire
project, financing and build of the operation are estimated to cost
$280 million dollars.
Jim Davies the fuel operations manager
said negotiations for the site are being finalized with land owners and
local government . Construction is expected to begin in 2012 and
completed by 2014. The plant will be self sufficient producing heat and
electricity as by products. The electricity will be fed into the
National Grid.
The Plant, a first of its kind in Europe will use
the Fischer-Tropsch process, a technology developed in the 1940's.
Waste is fed into a gasification chamber where patented plasma
technology breaks it down at temperatures as high as 5000 degrees C.
The gas is then converted into aviation fuel via the Fischer-Tropsch
process. By-products are vitrified glass and naphtha (a flammable group
of hydrocarbons) and are of use to the petrochemical industry. Fuel
produced by the Fischer Tropsch process has been found to burn cleaner
and is known to have a higher calorific value. The biojet fuel will
offer lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions savings of up to 95 percent
compared to fossil fuel derived kerosene.
A spokesman for the
airline says as aviation uses one-seventh of the fuel consumed by
ground transportation there is a more sustainable argument for using
bio-fuels in aviation.

Enjoy the Benefits of Hot and Cold Water Therapy
Hot and cold baths have been used for centuries and some of the
benefits they bring include: increased energy, increased circulation,
detoxification, and the clearing of negative energy. An easy way to
replicate the spa experience of alternating hot and cold baths, and the
primal experience of jumping from hot springs to cold rivers, is to
simply alternate hot and cold water in your shower. Most of us are
quite accustomed to warm showers and even the idea of introducing cold
water can be intimidating. But once you've done it for yourself, you'll
see it's really not that bad. Actually, you'll probably find it's quite
invigorating.
It's best to start with hot and after a few
minutes to use a blast of cold for a minute. Then use hot water again,
repeat several times, and end your shower when you're ready. The hot
should be hot and the cold should be cold - in fact, as long as you're
not scalding yourself: the hotter the better and the colder the better.
This can be done daily, but if you're clearing a negative energy dump
or if you need more powerful detoxification, it can be done several
times a day.
The extremes of hot and cold water cause your
muscles to expand and contract which offers gentle detoxification as
toxins are squeezed from your muscles. It also improves circulation and
the benefits of improved circulation shouldn't be underestimated. When
your body has poor circulation, it's impeded in delivering fresh blood
to all areas of the body. As a result, the body can't cleanse the
blocked and stagnant areas regularly - and toxins, filth and disease
accumulate in these oxygen and fresh blood deprived areas.
This
is regularly seen with cancers and tumors which are really just clumps
of fungus and filth that the body was unable to remove. They develop to
contain the waste that couldn't be removed because our detoxification
systems are frequently overwhelmed due to the large amounts of
chemicals and improper foods that most people take in daily - and also
because poor circulation prevents regular cleansing.
Cold water,
it should be noted, holds a magic of its own. Cold water has more
oxygen in it than hot water, and therefore has an alkalizing and
detoxifying effect. Plus, cold water is known to wipe away negative
energy from our bodies. And there's a negative energy component to most
disease - particularly where cancers or tumors are located. Using cold
water can help remove the energy that's binding the filth in certain
locations and when that energy is gone, the filth can more easily be
moved out of your body - where it truly belongs.
Sea salts and
ocean swimming also remove negative energy, which may be the reason
many beach oriented cultures have reputations for being laid back.
Plus, if you can release the negative energy when it's produced,
there's a much slimmer chance that it will be stored in your body and
come back to haunt you, either as a disease or an emotional trigger.
To
clear negative energy, another technique is to hold a couple teaspoons
of quality sea salts in the palms of each hand for a few minutes to
absorb the energy if it returns after your shower. Negative energy is
released through the palms of our hands and in this manner, the salts
can absorb the energy from you. After the salts have absorbed your
negative energy, let them sit in the sun for a day or two to regain
their purity.
People with heart problems, the elderly, and infirm may want to forgo extremely cold waters.

Brings Healing Qi Stimulation without Needles: Acupressure Brings Healing
Acupressure has become increasingly popular in the west in recent
years, though it has been used for centuries as a natural treatment for
various diseases. A traditional technique of Chinese medicine, it is
similar to acupuncture but less known.
The underlying theory is
that there is an invisible force or energy, called qi in Chinese, which
has healing power. There are many points, called acupoints or
meridians, which connect to the glands of the body. In therapy,
pressure is applied at specific points to increase the flow of the qi,
in and around the body through the point network. Pressuring acupoints
ensures normal qi circulation.
Once a therapist diagnoses a
particular ailment by acupressure, he or she provides some acupoints to
the patient. Self-applied acupressure is a free treatment which is
quick and effective in providing relief from many disorders, a unique
advantage. Its effectiveness increases with regular treatment,
including self-treatment.
The wellness benefits of acupressure
are many. Creating a sense of well-being, it helps provide relief from
problems due to stress and tiredness. It helps the body heal its
injuries, increases blood circulation, releases muscle tension and
reduces back pain. Some of the diseases or disorders that have been
mitigated by acupressure include diabetes, epilepsy, bronchitis, heart
problems, digestive problems and many allergies. Relief of eye strain,
sinus problems, arthritis, muscle aches, ulcer pain, menstrual cramps,
nausea, constipation and indigestion have been reported. Acupressure
can help in inducing pain-free labor during pregnancy and has been used
in lieu of pain killers for minor surgery.
Acupressure has also
been used to decrease swelling in the lower body caused by water
retention. Massaging certain acupoints on the legs, feet and ankles
helps to relieve such swelling by eliminating dampness; it can also
help to strengthen the spleen and kidneys. This is important because
these are the organs responsible for ensuring the right body fluid
balance.
There is some anecdotal evidence that the swelling may
be lessened by utilizing a "porcupine ball", an exercise ball covered
with spiked bumps. These bumps provide pressure to the body part
massaged by the ball. In addition, there are abundant wood and plastic
hand and foot massagers and other devices with pointed nubs to help a
person treat himself. More study of the efficacy of such tools is
needed, however.
Several techniques, or types of pressure, are
used depending on the particular needs of a patient`s disorder. These
vary from firm pressure to the more aggressive kneading of the muscles.
Keep in mind that acupressure, like other Chinese medicine protocols,
does not cure disease, but it works by bringing the body`s qi into a
better flow, thus enabling the body to heal itself. It is also thought
that a disruption in the qi flow can actually cause the problem, so
restoring the flow ends the discomfort.
Several precautions must
be taken before stimulating any point. Acupressure should be avoided
after heavy exercise, meals and bathing, and if pregnant. Prescription
drugs might interfere with the treatment. Also, if under treatment for
cancer or high blood pressure, the doctor`s supervision is necessary.
If
care is taken to follow the precautions, acupressure can be an adjunct
to treatment or a self- administered help for many common complaints.
Its non-invasive quality allows people to use it for free, anywhere,
anytime. Even though its more illustrious relative, acupuncture, has
been more fully researched and implemented, acupressure offers one
alternative to try before opting for acupuncture. Depending on the
complaint, it may be all that is needed.

http://www.acupressureinstitute.com/ http://med.stanford.edu/personal/po... http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com...doctors and nutritionists are urging dark-skinned immigrants
coming to Canada to supplement with vitamin D in order to stay healthy.
Many Canadian immigrants have relocated from countries with warmer,
sunnier climates, and are exposed to far less natural sunshine in
Canada than in their native lands. As a result, many of them have
become deficient in vitamin D.
Immigrants come to Canada to
work, to go to school, and simply to live, but few realize that the
change in climate conditions could have devastating effects on their
health. Darker-skinned people who come from places that receive more
sunlight and are warmer for more months out of the year often have
trouble maintaining healthy vitamin D levels in places like Canada that
are colder and get less overall sunlight.
According to Dr. Kevin
Pottie, nearly all of the immigrant and refugee patients he tests have
low vitamin D levels, especially during the wintertime when the angle
of the sun is at its lowest and the fewest ultraviolet-B (UVB) rays
make their way to people's skin.
Reinhold Vieth, a researcher
from the University of Toronto, explained in a CBC News interview that
the color of a person's skin actually plays a role in how much vitamin
D that person produces when exposed to sunlight.
People with
lighter skin tend to produce far more vitamin D when exposed to natural
sunlight than do those with darker skin. People from countries with
lots of natural sunlight and warm climates generally have dark skin, a
trait that Vieth believes has developed throughout their ancestries in
order to protect them from sun damage. As a result, dark-skinned people
must be exposed to far more sunlight than light-skinned people in order
to produce the same amount of vitamin D.
"Basically, what we're
doing is transplanting people from an area for which their skin is
optimized in terms of its color to an area where their skin is often
too dark to be healthy," he explained in an interview.
A
University of Toronto study co-authored by Vieth found that those of
South Asian descent are six times more likely to have vitamin D
deficiency than those from European descent. Researchers believe this
is due, in part, to a diet that is low in foods containing vitamin D.
Many women from these cultures also wear traditional clothing that
covers nearly all their skin, limiting their exposure to the sun.
Immigrants
who generally spent a lot of time outside in their native lands tend to
stay indoors in Canada due to the colder weather and harsh winters. As
a result, they are more prone to vitamin D deficiency diseases like
bone density loss, arthritis, diabetes, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and
even mental illness.
The Canadian Cancer Society is recommending
that people take 1,000 international units (IU) of vitamin D every day
throughout the year in order to maintain good health.

Battery Breakthrough Technology Could Power Homes for Pennies Per Kilowatt Hour
Scientists with Ceramatec, the research and development arm of
CoorsTek, say that they have developed a new kind of deep-storage
battery that, when coupled with on-site power generation mechanisms
like wind and solar electricity, could power an entire home for only
pennies per kilowatt hour.
Most wind and solar-powered homes
remain connected to the national electric grid, largely because it is
difficult and expensive to install batteries large enough to keep the
house powered through low wind or sun periods. Ceramatec's new battery,
however, uses solid materials to store between 20 and 40 kilowatt hours
of electricity at temperatures of only 90 degrees Celsius. In contrast,
most high-density batteries use liquids heated to dangerous
temperatures of roughly 600 degrees.
The batteries are currently
being tested to see how many charge-discharge cycles they can support
throughout their lifetimes. Currently the batteries have made it
through 200 and are still going strong, and the scientists estimate a
lifespan of 3,650 cycles -- or one cycle every day for 10 years. Since
each battery costs approximately $2,000, this would translate into a
cost of only three cents per kilowatt hour -- in contrast to the eight
cents per kilowatt hour charged by the typical electric company.
The
battery can release electricity at a continuous rate of five kilowatts
for a period of four hours. This would be enough to power a vacuum
cleaner, stereo, sewing machine, trash compactor, food processor,
thirty-three 60-watt light bulbs and one electric stovetop burner.
Batteries
such as these, matching high capacity with low cost, have the potential
to revolutionize the field of home-generated electricity, perhaps even
rendering centrally generated power obsolete.
"This changes the
whole scope of things and would have a major impact on what we're
trying to do," said Clyde Shepherd of Alpine, Utah, whose home is
powered by two windmills. "Something that would provide 20 kilowatts
would put us near 100 percent of what we would need to be completely
independent. It would save literally thousands of dollars a year."

Optician cures his own blindness with herbal medicine made with marigolds (calendula)
A retired optician says he has cured his own case of age-related
blindness by self-medicating with a supplement containing a marigold
derivative.
"I decided to this off my own back," said
73-year-old Harry Marsland. "I treated myself, which is the very thing
you're not supposed to do in any profession. As a retired professional,
I feel a responsibility to get this message across to as many people as
possible."
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most
common cause of blindness in people over the age of 60, and causes loss
of vision in the center of the eye. "Wet" AMD occurs when abnormal
blood vessel growth leads to the destruction of the eye's
light-sensitive (photoreceptor) cells. "Dry" AMD occurs when the
photoreceptors atrophy without blood vessel damage.
Marsland
lost vision in his right eye to wet AMD in 2001, and soon after began
to suffer from dry AMD in his left. Eventually, he lost so much vision
that he could no longer move around on his own, and began to consider
learning Braille.
The retired doctor tried experimental laser,
vitamin and supplement treatments, but nothing made any difference.
Then in 2007, he was given a flier about a new AMD supplement
containing a marigold extract, an ingredient he had yet to try. So
Marsland spent £150 ($240) on a year's worth of the treatment.
"I
now know, professionally, that I have recovered almost completely from
the effects of the dry AMD in my left eye," Marsland said. "I am the
first person to have such good fortune. I have recovered 95 per cent of
the sight in my left eye which is miraculous, considering that at one
point I was literally blind in the dark."
The supplement
contained the marigold extract meso-zeaxanthin, as well as the spinach
derivative lutein and the corn derivative zeaxanthin. Marsland had
previously tried both lutein and zeaxanthin, which are recommended by
the U.S. National Institutes of Health, but they had never had any
effect.
