Katie's Corner:
 Wine Placement News

Like I have mentioned before....people love Vin du Lac Wines.  When I visit restaurants, wine shops, festivals and wine tastings...it is a rarity to find a wine drinker who doesn't love our wines.   At the Kirkland Uncorked Event the "IT" wine of the 3 day wine event was our Savvy! Sauvignon Blanc.  The next weekend at the Ellensburg Jazz in the Valley Event, word got out that our Viognier was "mind-blowing" and it became the favorite white wine of the day.    The next wine events that you can see us at are ...

Success is in the air at Vin du Lac Winery, and we are celebrating!  But not just the fact that we turning 6 years old...we are also celebrating the Lake Chelan Valley AVA, a new production facility, increased case production..(did you know that Vin du Lac will produced close to 10,000 cases of wine this year) and also...National Exposure!   Vin du Lac has had great success in the Washington market and as we increased our presence in the market we could feel the demand for our boutique and affordable wines.   Our friends and family were asking... "can I find your wines in Arizona, what about Florida"!?  And then distributors started calling.... "I heard about your wines and I have to try them".  So I have been working hard to line up a national presence!  Let your friends and family in these states know that they can join us in celebrating too!

I'm starting to think the intense summer heat has hit Larry. With our Sixth Anniversary Party coming up this Saturday, August 8th he has put together some promotions that seem just a little too good to be true. (Even for an employee with a discount!)

The upside to the miserable heat is it makes the refreshing taste of Vin du Lac white wines all the more enjoyable! So for the month of August, if you buy six bottles of ANY white wine  you get an extra 5% off your purchase.

In addition, I'm thrilled to announce that in honor of our 6th Anniversary Celebration,  Larry is releasing 10 cases of the 2003 Merlot from the Library at a deep discount . We've cut the price in half from $85 per bottle down to $42.50.  As an extra bonus to our Club Members, if you buy three or more bottles you will receive an extra 5% the member price!  I will be giving special pours of this wine at the Anniversary Party this Saturday,  August 8th...just in case you don't believe little ol'-wine-loving me!

I want to feature two new merchandise items we have in the tasting room that go well with these hot summer days.  The first new product is a Glass Flame Protector, in clear or frosted glass.  Take your favorite wine bottle, add a candle, and the Flame Protector goes over them to enhance the look and to keep the wind from ruining the ambiance during your outdoor parties!

In addition to the Glass Flame Protectors, we now carry a line of BUILT Neoprene Wine bags, in Singles or Doubles. wine bags We have a variety of designs to offer; these are great hostess gifts to bring to summer barbecues !  They'll also keep your wine bottles safe with their thick neoprene padding as you travel from beach to patio.  Have fun!

Nattie's News:
Dessert du Jour!

I believe that for every meal there is always the perfect dessert to finish with, it's the last thing you experience and should be among the most memorable. Each week I create a new dessert, inspirations come from the season, weather, and ingredients fresh and available. When I go to a restaurant, I always look at the desserts; it's the part of the menu that stretches the imagination the most. Combining sweet and savory is an art, and must match the rest of the menu. Everyone has a classic crème brulee, it's a trademark of French cuisine, but the flavors and variations are endless. This is true with all desserts and needs to be experimented with. There should be more than one component too, different textures, colors, and of course flavors. The worst thing that can happen is having a delicious dessert and having your senses become bored. Every sense should be experienced when eating.

WINE PROMOTIONS!!

6th Anniversary Party ONLY
2003 Barrel Select Merlot Library Wine Final Sale!
Was $85.00 per bottle  -  Final ten cases 50% off!!
plus
Club Members only:  Buy 3 or more & get an extra 5% your already discounted member price!

Here's what Larry says about this wine:

I build the reds to age.  They should grow smoother and more complex as they develop, and regarding this 2003 Barrel Select, what I have to say is "That's what I'm talking about!"

I loved this Merlot from day one.  It was rich and fruitful with layers of complexity.  With 6 years of barrel and bottle aging, it has developed magnificently.  The overt fruitiness has receded and the wine now has more mature aromas of black cherry, plum, cola, oak spice, and leather.  It is a very smooth, rich, easy-drinking wine.

I am releasing the last ten cases of the Winery's library stock (I'm keeping several for my private library!!) and offering them at a reduced price as the wine is clearly at its peak and I'd like folks to enjoy it now. You'll see the wine is still youthful and probably has at least several years of life left, but it is currently showing everything it has and so may as well be drank now.

Enjoy!
