North Reading Reads 2012: We hope you'll join us in celebrating local food and community this month. The North Reading Book Discussion Club had a terrific discussion of The Dirty Life: A Memoir of Farming, Food, and Love by Kristin Kimball. Here are some Readers' Comments. If you've read the book, we'd love to hear what you think. Please email me and we'll post your responses.
The Evening Book Group will discuss The Dirty Life Tuesday, March 6 at 7PM. Hugo Wiberg will talk about how to start a vegetable garden, Tuesday, March 13 at 7PM. Karen Vitale, a North Reading author, will talk about her new young adult novel, Thursday, March 15, at 3PM. Food and Community, a panel discussion, will take place Tuesday, March 27, 7PM. Mark Your Calendars for Programs in April and May! Rebecca Passo, Media Relations Manager for Kiva Systems, Inc., of North Reading, will talk about this exciting new robotics company. April is also National Poetry Month: North Reading poet Nancy Bailey Miller will read and give a writing workshop. In May, Suzanne Korn will give a talk on "The Timeless Art of Stenciling." North Reading Reads 2012:
Enjoy these children's programs relating to our North Reading Reads book, "A Dirty Life," by Kristin Kimball.
Books and Flicks: Tuesday March 20th, 4PM, for 3 - 5-year-olds. Enjoy a film and stories about seeds and then plant your own to take home!
Fabulous Bouquets: Tuesday March 27th, 3:30PM, for ages 10 and up. Make beautiful and realistic tissue paper flowers in a variety of styles.
For Pre-Schoolers:
Spring Story Times begin in March. Watch for sign-up dates!
Five sessions for six weeks.
Toddler Tales: Tuesdays at 9:30AM: March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3, 10

Sweet Dreams Story-time is back! Come in your PJs and hear some cozy bed-time stories. Starting Monday, February 27th at 7:00PM. Three meetings in total: 3/19, 4/23, & 5/21.
For Elementary School Children:
Star Readers Book Club Monday, March 5th, from 4:00 - 4:45PM. For students in Grades 4 & 5. We will discuss "Amulet: The Stonekeepers, Book 1" by Kazu Kibuishi. Copies still available for check out in the Children's Room.
Lego Club Tuesday, March 6th, from 4-5PM An awesome activity for students in grades 2 & up!
Regular Readers: Be sure to ask for a Regular Reader card, if your child would like one. Get the card stamped each time you visit. After several visits to the library, children may be entered to win a gift certificate to Ryer's Store, sponsored by the Friends.

Dear Teens, Please welcome our new Youth Services Librarian, Emma Weiler. Find out more about Emma on the Teen Page. Come check out the new books and graphic novels in their new locations. The Youth Advisory Board is back! The next meeting is Tuesday, March 27th from 4:00 - 5:00. This group is open to all teens in grades 6-12. YAB members help choose books, CDs, and DVDs, organize programs (anime night anyone?), and special events. Gaming at the library! In cooperation with North Reading Youth Services, we are hosting a special gaming time at the library on Friday, March 9th from 11:30 - 2:30 (yes, it's a half day). Come play our games or bring your own. Light refreshments provided. Want to Volunteer at the Library? Are teens looking for community service hours?Please call Dianne Dowd at 978-664-4942.
