Shoes

While cleaning the attic, Joan and Harry found an old stub for some shoes they left at the repair shop 10 years ago.

They thought it would be funny to go to the shop and see if the shoes were still there. So they did.

They handed the stub to the repair man who took it and looked in the back.

He came out again and said, "They'll be ready on Wednesday."
Tools of the Trade September 2011
Greetings!

I am terribly sorry that I have missed the last few newsletters!  There has been so much happening and I am just now getting a chance to sit down to put this together and get all of the news out to everyone.

Since the beginning, CDS has had a partnership with Geomatic Resources.  With the direction they are looking to move, and the direction I want to move it made sense to join that partnership.  While everything is not 100% final, for all practical purposes CDS and Geomatic Resources are being merged into one entity keeping the Geomatic Resources name.

I have relocated to the DFW metroplex and am slowly trying to get settled in and get things rolling.  For all practical purposes this merger should have no impact on clients who have worked with me in the past as I will continue to do what I have always done.  What it will do is provide me more office support so things can be done more efficiently and effectively as well as access to the Leica product line.

I think it is a safe bet to say we will be putting on Leica Viva! classes in the very near future.  This also gives me a better opportunity to focus more on HDS and do a better job with that.

I am still holding the Carlson brand as well as Autodesk, and we will continue offering training and consulting.  All-in-all this is a very positive move for me and for the growth of both companies.

If you are a client in Dallas/Fort Worth that has complained about me not being up here as often as you would like, you are about to get all of me you can stand!!!  i am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible and all of you at TSPS next month!!

Have a GREAT month and stay safe!

Sincerely,
Paul M. Carlson

Tips & Tricks

question We are running older Leica equipment with SurvCE and have made the move to the newer Viva system.  We miss some of the things in Carlson SurvCE, especially coding.  What can we do?

answer stamp You have two options really, first is to look at SurvCE for System Viva!  Second is to make a few modifications to Viva! to get an interface for coding that is similar to Carlson SurvCE and can be done pretty easily. Click here to watch the video I put together that shows how this can be done..

To learn more about how CDS can work with you on this or other training/consulting projects call our office or email me directly at pmcarlson@carlsonds.com.
