Pandas

A panda walks into a bar, orders a sandwich and sits down. When he is done with his sandwich he pulls out a gun shoots the waiter then gets up to leave. The bartender stops him and says "you just shot my waiter and now your going to leave?" The panda throws him a dictionary and says, "dude I'm a Panda, look it up". So the bartender grabs the dictionary and looks up panda bear. It said "an animal that lives in Africa, eats shoots and leaves."

Tools of the Trade April 2010
Greetings!

I saw Bluebonnets this weekend!  That means spring is finally here!  Warmer weather, flowers, fishing, golf, and spring cleaning.  Spring cleaning is more than just dusting the cobwebs off an old item you have not seen in a few months, it is also about preparing for the work that lies ahead.

In business it often means finding ways to be more productive with things you already have, or making replacements you have been putting off for a while.  Either way now is as good a time as ever to take inventory of the things you have and start putting them to good use!

Sometimes that old equipment just needs is a little TLC (Technology update, caLibration, and Cleaning...yes I know that was a stretch). If you want to upgrade your data collection software or your data collector,  or have an instrument cleaned and calibration we can help!  SurvCE 2.5 has been released and there has never been a better time than now to advance.  Go to our website for special financing options if you are in the market for instruments or software.

Part of our spring cleaning for the last few months has been to take more steps to stay connected with you and getting you information as quickly as we can.  We have added a blog to the CDS website, expanded our Facebook efforts and have even begun tweeting.  To top that off we are offering some free webinars beginning in April that are sure to help.  I will post more as I get them scheduled, you just have to keep an eye on our website for the dates and details.

I would also like to ask that you take just a minute to update your contact information to make sure we keep you up to date on everything going on.  You can click the link in the upper left corner of the newsletter or below to update your information.

I will do my best to keep the tweets and facebook posts as current and relevant as I can, and will write blogs of substance as often as possible.  If you have ideas or suggestions PLEASE pass them on to me.  Until next month, have a great April and enjoy Spring!

Sincerely,
Paul M. Carlson

Tips & Tricks

question It has long been known that the easiest way to increase productivity is to make the tools you use regularly more easily accessible.  How can we make things easier to grab than they already are?

answer stamp You have more customization in the 2010 release of AutoCAD than you would believe. Not too long ago we did a video on ribbons and this month's video will dig into the CUI file again to add even more flexibility.  Unlike past videos this one is found in our blog with other useful posts.  Click here to be directed to our blog to watch the short video.
