Tools of the Trade February 2010
|
Greetings!
Amore, aimer, kjærlighet, miłość, 爱, Liebe. No matter how you say it, February is about love. Well that and flowers, chocolates, stuffed
teddy bears, candle light dinners....you get the idea. That's right friends, February 14th is fast approaching. So if you did not get that special someone in
your life something sweet for Christmas you get another chance. Or if you are like me, you've had Christmas,
a Wedding Anniversary, her birthday and now Valentines Day to get it right (though I am quickly running out of ideas)!
We have now made it through the first month of 2010 and to
be honest things are starting to look up.
The economic outlooks in many areas are
improving and we are starting to see people going back to work. Not as many as we would like, but it is happening
and that is a good trend. We sold three
Altus GPS receivers last WEEK which is a great sign of improvement! The demand for training and consulting
services is growing as are the requests for software upgrades and new
seats. This may not seem important to
you, but it is a sign that people are either replacing or adding technology for jobs they
have, or for work that is coming. Either way the CDS Chief Economist says the
outlook is mostly sunny (I am also the Chief Meteorologist so you can use that
forecast either way)!
It has been difficult talking to old friends the past 9 months
or so. So many of them have lost their
jobs, or been shuffled around, or worse were riding the fence every day and
were unsure if they would have a job tomorrow.
I for one will be glad to see things start to turn around and all of you
get a piece of that pie! We can get
there, and we will. So to all of you
still hanging on, keep your chin up, things are getting better. To those trying to get back in, keep trying
it will happen! To those who think I
have lost my mind, keep reading, it gets better!
This month's newsletter should have some great information
to help those looking for better ways to do things. Our Facebook page has computer tips that may
save your life (not literally of course) and even a little Dr. Seuss! Our website is packed with information and
things that can prove to come in handy now and then. All of this to let you know, we have your
back! Whether it is a tip to save you
time, industry news to help you make decisions, or a joke to make you laugh
when you need a break, CDS is here for you.
When I left Carlson Software to start CDS way back in 2007 I
did it with a vision of helping people.
Providing information, experience, expertise, and not just a sales
pitch. Anyone can sell something, but I
wanted to make sure we were here for the long haul. That is what this is all about after all,
customer service. I say it time and time
again, but it never gets old to me.
Always remember that we are here for you in any way we can be. I look forward to another great month (plus
St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner!).
Sincerely, Paul M. Carlson CDS - President
It doesn't matter how often a married man changes his job, he still
ends up with the same boss. |

How can you create good presentations for clients without buying more software for presentations?
Does that question look familiar? This month's Tech Tip is a continuation of creating presentations. This month we look at a 3D surface presentation. Click here to watch the video.
