Greetings!

September is here already, that means the kids are back to school, summer is nearing the end, and football season is about to kick off.  Here in Austin we have set several records for hottest days and are in the middle of a 24 month drought.  By the time August is over we should have reached the hottest summer mark holding 70 days at 100 degrees or hotter!

We have seen several job lettings recently and have started slowly getting calls from clients again in need of help.  This is good news because it means things are happening, the wheels of progress that recently seemed frozen have slowly begun to move again.

With the unbelievably low cost of ownership of an Altus APS-3 GPS system and the combination of new and used equipment we have, we can help you keep moving without breaking the bank.  As budgets tighten we see more companies looking for high quality without a high price and that is why cities such as the City of Little Rock, City of Los Angeles, agencies like the L.C.R.A and even divisions in D.O.T.s like Florida have begun putting the APS-3 to work for them.

So what does September bring you?  As you begin to face the challenges of these new ways of doing business (fewer jobs, less staff, smaller budgets) remember that CDS is here to help you.  As you begin taking on new jobs and are looking for better ways to do things, think of us.  You may know that we answer questions, but did you know we do custom training over the web and in person?  Did you know we provide consulting services and even do things such as set up field coding systems for companies (regardless of the instruments being used)?  So when you start looking for better ways to do things, ways to save money, or ways to produce a better product than your competition, give me a call and let's see how CDS can work with you.

Until next month, have a Happy Labor Day, a wonderful beginning to fall, and hook 'em, gig 'em, or shoot 'em up (or simply...Go TEAM!).

Sincerely,
Paul M. Carlson

question We need help, but do not need a full day of training/consulting.  Are there options available for us?

answer stamp Beginning in September CDS is launching our "Lunch & Learn" series of short web meetings that fit the bill perfectly.  Come spend an hour with Paul Carlson, President and founder of CDS as he goes through various topics each session geared to you.  Every session will have a different topic and all topics will be posted in advance on our website.  The sessions will be 1 hour in length and will offer time at the end for a Q&A on the topics covered as well as related topics.  Check the calendar on our website for more details or email us at training@carlsonds.com.

To learn more about how CDS can work with you on this or other training/consulting projects call our office or email me directly at pmcarlson@carlsonds.com.
