Greetings!

If your legs are still wobbly then you too just got back from the TSPS Convention at Sea.  I saw several TSPS members and had a chance to talk to a few.  If I missed you, please accept my invitation to call me at the office and make up for the time missed.

Why on earth would you want to do that?  I will often run into people and we will talk about life, work, or politics and somewhere in the conversation they remember a question they've wanted to ask for a long time.  Sometimes we don't feel our questions are important enough to ask or  maybe we will look silly by asking them.  I say nonsense!  We are here to answer your questions.

When I left Carlson Software last year to start CDS, I did it with the commitment to do more than just sell stuff, but rather to be a resource for information and trends in the industry.  As we bring on additional team members we not only look for the best, but those who share that same level of commitment to our clients and their success.

If you see me, John, Damon or one of our other team members at a State Convention, or an association chapter meeting, come up and introduce yourself and ask your questions.  Of course you do not have to wait for those meetings, you can always call the office or send us an email.  We are happy to answer questions and share insight on things such as the APS-3 RTK System from Altus, or our thoughts on CAD packages and Surveying Software.  Remember that we are here to help.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and remember to vote!

Sincerely,

Paul Carlson

How about something a little different this month for fun?

"Why is a mile 5,280 feet?"

answer stampSeveral years ago I was teaching a class on the East Coast and in the middle of the class a large and rather odd number popped into my head...63360.  The number meant nothing to me at the time but really bothered me because I could not figure out what it was or why it was in my head.  I continued the class and during a break called a dear friend of mine who is an RPLS anda  genius to see if he recognized the number.  He did not.  The game was on...
