Greetings!

I hope this month finds you well.  Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to all of those affected by the hurricanes that have battered the U.S. coast lines.  We wish everyone a speedy recovery and hope you were not too badly affected.

One thing that I have learned in life is that change is inevitable.  Rebuilding after catastrophic events like these is not easy and one of the toughest parts is the change.  Change is so hard to do, and most simply don't.  For us to stay on the cutting edge of technology it is important that we are constantly changing and evolving, yet keeping focused on where we are going with an eye on where we have been.

Speaking of change, the seasons are also changing!  Fall is my favorite time of year, or as we call it in Texas, the beginning of the brown season.  Fall marks the beginning of the holiday season, and I know that  Thanksgiving, Christmas and a new year are just around the bend!  So for now, have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Sincerely,

Paul Carlson

"We are a construction company using Altus GPS with Carlson SurvCE for layout.  On our current job we have created all required points and surfaces in the office that need to be staked out, but after driving to the site realized we missed an area.  We have the graphics loaded and can see the point we need to create.  Without driving back to the office, can we add additional points to be staked out on the fly?"

answer stampAdditional data can be added in the field with SurvCE through many methods, depending on what it is you are wanting to create.  For example you can create points using the Manual Traverse command found under the COGO menu to create points using angles and distances.

For your situation, there are actually two methods for doing this.  One is to actually create the point and the other is to simply stake out to the location without creating the point.  Click here to see the video.
