Greetings!

CDS started 2008 off with the news that we were the largest Carlson Software reseller
in 2 categories, Office Software Sales & Gross Profit Revenue. Combine that with the other things that have been going on so far this year and 2008 has kicked off with a
bang!

If you have not been to www.carlsonds.com and checked out all of the documents in our
knowledge base, you should! For those of you who have I hope they have been helpful and I
hope you continue to find our knowledge base a source of useful tips, tricks and information.
One of the early documents on there I am afraid will need to be retired as it is no longer needed.
That is sad news for my archives, but good news for you. In the 2009 version of Carlson the
Drawing Clean-up command has been updated to include some very, and I mean VERY powerful
options.

There are two common issues that face people who work with files from an outside source. Ok,
there are more than two but this document is focusing on two of them, drawing units and external
references.

Autodesk News
As you may be aware AutoDESK® began the phasing out of older products
several years ago and is this year retiring AutoCAD® 2006 based products. As
of March 13, 2009 support for AutoCAD® 2006 will be discontinued and upgrades
from 2006 products will no longer be available.

Carlson News
Earlier this year the press release came out about Carlson's relationship with AutoDESK and since then I have gotten several calls from all over the place asking questions. If you missed the official release, or the message about it on our web site earlier this year Carlson Software was cut as a reseller of AutoDESK products. This change simply meant Carlson no longer had the ability to bundle their software with AutoDESK products as they have in the past.

Carlson Software has released their 2009 product line with some new options. Carlson 2009 is now offered as an AutoCAD add-on (all versions from 2000-2009 including Map, LDD and Civil 3D) as a standalone with the AutoCAD engine, or as a standalone with the IntelliCAD engine. All versions have released with the exception of the Survey 2009 with the AutoCAD engine which is expected later this month.
