Tech Report "We receive data from the Texas Railroad Commission and other sources more regularly than we had in the past. There are also requirements forcing us to use this GIS data in some cases. If we are using a product such as the Carlson Survey StandAlone, or other Carlson Survey products, how can we work with this GIS data without switching to a GIS specific application?"
Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) is almost becoming as common a word in surveying today as Gunter's Chain was in the 17th Century.
Just as programs such as StarNet are industry standards for Network Least Squares adjustments, E.S.R.I. is practically a household name in the G.I.S. world and being able to communicate with E.S.R.I. products is a vital part of modern Surveying, Engineering and Construction.
While there are a few options out there I want to focus on the G.I.S. capabilities built in to your Carlson Survey 2009 product. Click here to watch the video on importing GIS information. |
