| Vacant Property Alert
SCAMS |
| We have reports of vacant listed properties that are "occupied" by people who claim to have paid a deposit and rent. But the occupant had not paid the true owner of the property. Instead someone posing as the owner has collected the rents and deposits, never again to be found. We have heard that police have not been able to help.
Whether you are a listing or buyer's agent, we suggest that any vacant property be monitored frequently. Removal of the combo boxes may be prudent, especially since combo codes in agent listing printouts may be getting into the wrong hands.
If you have something to report, please call John Bedford, Executive Officer, DAR at 925-757-8283.
