L! No Campaign Needs Your Help
From DAR President Angela Johns
|

This election
we have the opportunity to stop a potential tax on each of us, which if passed
in one city will most likely spread to others.
The issue is
Oakley's Measure L, the business license tax increase.
The City of Oakley already has a
business license tax, but now they want more. And they're expanding the tax to
include Realtors and all rental properties - except for those under special
programs, in other words, Section 8.
When
businesses are struggling to stay open and so many properties are in distress,
it's not the time to be raising taxes. Oakley needs to work to bring more
business to town to increase sales and property tax revenues to pay for city
services.
So, we're
asking you to please join us and help us get our message to Oakley of L No!
Stop the Tax Increase.
With a little
less than four weeks to go, we have mailers and other campaign materials to pay
for. You can support our efforts to defeat
Measure L by using the contribution/volunteer form. Click Here for the form (jpg image)
Please
complete the form - we need you to help us distribute flyers door to door on
Saturday, October 11 and 25 - put a sign in your yard or business if you're
located in Oakley, and then write as large a check as you can afford to "East
County Coalition" and mail it to 3775 Main Street, Suite D,
Oakley, CA 94561 - as soon as possible.
Together we
can defeat Measure L and send a loud and clear message to all the cities in the
area.
Thank you for
your support
Sincerely,
Angela Johns, President

MIXER POSTPONED
|
NOTICE! OCT 9 Mixer - POSTPONED to November 12th.
Due to a large number of our elected officials not being
able to attend our mixer on October 9th, we have decided to move the
event out into November. We know this is
a disappointment for many of you, but the new date of November 12th
presents a great opportunity for the Delta Association of REALTORS®. Instead of the previously scheduled Pittsburg
Yacht Club, the mixer will be held at
3428 Hillcrest Avenue, Suite 200.
Antioch.
3428 Hillcrest Avenue, Suite 220 is the NEW
ADDRESS for the Delta Association of REALTORS®. We will be moving out of the Sunset Lane
offices in late October. That will give
us plenty of time to get our new Conference Center ready to host our members
and elected officials.
VIEW REVISED INVITATION HERE!
We think that it would only be right to hold this event as our first in our new location. The November elections will have concluded giving you a chance to chat with our
newly elected officials and at the same time get a close up look at our new
offices.
With over 1550 square feet in our Conference Center, we
finally have a room large enough for conducting gatherings of this sort. And there should be plenty of parking
available. Thanks to the vision of the
Delta Association's officers and members of the board of directors.
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF
YOU ARE COMING. We are having Hors d'ouvres
catered. Cocktails and other beverages
hosted. RSVP Bielle Moore (925) 757-8283 or Bielle.M@gmail.com for reservations.
