Defeat Oakley's Measure L
L-NO Says Past President Aaron Meadows.
The City of Oakley has placed Measure L on the November ballot.
Measure L is an increase in business license tax and a huge increase for individual rental units.  $200 per unit!
There are no exceptions for low-income housing which could result in more multi-family and section 8 units which we know have been problematic in neighboring cities.
The City did not consult with the Delta Association of Realtors prior to putting this forward to go on to the November 4th ballot.  The City said this increase will be used to pay for all kind of city services which should in my opinion be paid by property taxes and sales tax.
This is the wrong time to be discouraging business in Oakley.  The City should be focusing on attracting new business, not raising taxes on the businesses that are already struggling!
Please join our precinct walks on October 11th and October 25th.
We will meet at 9AM at the Coldwell Banker Office located at 3775 Main Street in Oakley.
WE NEED YOUR HELP.   PLEASE PARTICIPATE!
Please call me at 925-625-5004 to RSVP
