The Tire Society and Rubber Division, ACS Announce Administrative Services Agreement for 2009
Akron, Ohio, USA - February 20, 2009 - The Tire Society and the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society have entered into an agreement for 2009 in which the administrative functions of The Tire Society will be evaluated for possible future support by the Rubber Division administrative staff.  Other potential collaborations will also be considered.  This action recognizes the need for such business partnerships to create synergy from sharing resources and expertise, a theme particularly relevant in the current global economic climate.  It also offers a significant opportunity to increase value to both organizations and their members through the Rubber Division's professional administrative staff, mutual resources and similar technical interests.

During 2009, the Rubber Division staff will work with The Tire Society Office Manager and necessary representatives in both a job-shadowing and consulting capacity to gain knowledge of Tire Society operations.  This includes assisting with The Tire Society Annual Conference at the Akron City Centre Hotel in Akron, Ohio, USA on September 15-16, 2009.  Following The Tire Society's 2009 Annual Conference, both organizations will assess the mutual benefits of this partnership and the feasibility of a long-term agreement.  Other than administrative functions and potential joint technical programs, each organization will remain separate in their operational, financial and legal responsibilities.
