"Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance toward the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point. Climb slowly, steadily, enjoying each passing moment; and the view from the summit will serve as a fitting climax for the journey."

"The moments when you attain a goal and realize true perfection probably account for less than 2 percent of your lifetime, while the process of living and working towards your goals occupies the rest. If you look to perfection to supply your sense of success, you are discounting the other 98 percent of your life."

First Impressions
Haven't we all heard many times over how some people work their entire life to reach their dreams or goals? Only to find once they reached their success it left them feeling disappointed and empty. They were so focused on the outcome they missed the entire ride. What if we defined success not only by what we accomplish but also all that we do to get there. In essence, couldn't we consider ourselves to be successful every moment of everyday that we strive to reach our dreams and goals?
"Success is a journey, not a destination"
Once we choose to see success as a journey and not a destination, our daily routines will no longer be boring and mundane. They will become an exciting, integral step necessary to achieve the success we desire. Therefore, why wait to celebrate in life only once we reach that one special moment? Let's celebrate each moment of each day we live as a part of our ultimate journey to success! |
Personal Inspiration
What does the road look like to your personal success? Is it a spouse, a family, good health, new career, weight loss, riches or maybe all of the above? Whatever it is, are you celebrating the bends in the road or are you focused only on traveling a straight path?
"The bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you refuse to take the turn."
Do you ever say to yourself, once I achieve .....then I will ....! We delay allowing ourselves to feel good about our accomplishments until we reach our ultimate goal. Often times, once we reach our goal we feel empty because we have not learned how to enjoy and celebrate the present-day life. It became all about achieving the goal and not about celebrating the journey. Some will even lose themselves along the way.
In order to feel happy and successful once we achieve our goals, we must first learn to reward and celebrate who we are and where we are right now.
Start by telling yourself, this is where I am supposed to be right now and celebrate where you are at the moment. Next ask yourself, what am I supposed to learn from where I am right now to help me understand the path I am meant to take?
Take the time to explore and enjoy the twists and bends in the path through life's journey. Who knows, it may be the bend in the road you didn't want to take that leads you to your greatest success!

Professional Inspiration
My role as a speaker and performance coach is to help teams discover how they can achieve the success they desire. Every office has a different measure of success, which is why it is so important that each office define what success means for them. For some it is the bottom line only and for others it means a healthy environment and still others it is a combination of the two.
It is important to have the entire team meet and define what success would look like for their practice. Your team will embrace change when they initiate it, or have a role creating it. When someone else initiates the change they may fight it. Working together as a team empowers everyone to participate and therefore be on board.
Next discuss what piece of the puzzle each team member plays to generate the goals that lead to the overall success of the team. What tasks and responsibilities will individual team members gladly commit too and be accountable? Anyone not wanting to contribute to the overall success of the practice is really telling you they no longer choose to be a team player. In a successful practice everyone needs to be a team player in order to be a team member!
Once your team members perceive the importance of their role along with the benefits, they will enthusiastically honor their commitment to attain success!
