Worm Glue will Repair Bones!

Dr. Stewart and his colleagues have been studying a tiny marine worm that builds its underwater home out of sand and bits of shell glued together.  Since shattered bones have to be repaired in the wet environment of the body, finding the key to this protein-based adhesive could be key to fixing complex breaks in humans.
The researchers have created synthetic polymers that act just like the natural worm glue when combined together.  They have now created a version that is twice as strong as the original worm glue. This could replace using pins and plates to fix broken bones.
