World Series MVP Mike Lowell was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday by the Boston Red Sox because of a sprained left thumb. 

BOSTON - The Boston Red Sox purchased the contract of infielder Jed Lowrie, a North Salem High School graduate, from Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday.

Jed Lowrie and Jacoby Ellsbury have played with Jose Cepeda and NWDS in the past.  We are very proud of Lowrie and his accomplishments, it shows that hard work and great caoching pays divedends. We look forward to the next group of NWDS students to take it to the next level.

Lowrie was also at our 2nd Annual NWDS Holiday Camp and was helping with instruction for the camp.

 
   Lowrie has debut versus the Yankees
 
Lowrie will make his debut this evening versus the Yankees at 7:05 Eastern time.  Watch the game and cheer on a local phenom.
