Help children learn this summer
Did you know that most students lose about two months of grade-level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months? Low-income students also lose more than two months in reading achievement, despite the fact that their middle-class peers make slight gains. Read more.
You can help us prevent this!
Please join the members of our Young Leaders Circle (YLC), along with the Rhode Island Afterschool Plus Alliance (RIASPA), an education initiative of United Way of Rhode Island, as we collect supplies to support summer learning programs across the state.
What: YLC will be collecting supplies at the Pawtucket Red Sox Game. Receive a free PawSox flex ticket for each donation.
When: Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
(game starts at 7:05 p.m.)
Where: McCoy Stadium, Pawtucket
What supplies are needed? New and unopened packages of regular and colored pencils, pens, markers, crayons, composition books and single-subject notebooks, paper (lined, construction and specialty), glue, scissors, sunscreen, and refillable water bottles.
