| Overview: Home Safety | |
Home safety is a particular concern for parents of infants and young children. As children become more mobile, they also become more susceptible to harm from everyday household objects and products. To prevent choking, suffocation, falls, burns and other injuries, young children must be closely monitored at all times. Local health departments can help inform parents and other caregivers about the most effective ways to ensure home safety, while engaging health professionals in activities such as promoting home safety visits.
