The Apple of His Eye Mission Society Prayer Release
SHALOM   !

The Apple of His Eye Mission Society seeks your prayers now:

IVAN 1. Rev. Ivan Peterson, Executive Assistant is with his mother RIGHT NOW in Denver as she enters hospice care.  She has gone through much in the last few months, including surgery for cancer. Please pray for Ivan, his wife, Janet (recovering from her second knee replacement) and the rest of the Peterson clan as they give care and love to his much loved mother, Luella. Pray as time is short for her as she prepares to meet her Savior and Lord.  An e-mail could be sent to Ivan at Ivan.peterson@appleofhiseye.org

2. Al K. lives near Milwaukee.
He wanted to meet with me when I was at Concordia University, Chicago last week but was out of town on business. He has a close friend, Arnie who is Jewish. Arnie just received word that he has terminal, in-operable cancer. Arnie is not a believer in Jesus yet. Al called to ask for prayers and help in sharing his faith with his longstanding friend who now is in crisis. Please pray for God's mercy on Arnie that he might still have time to receive Jesus as His savior and for Al in his personal witness.

3.  Around the world there are reported increases in anti-Semitic incidences.
This is nothing new, but in times of economic turmoil, the ugly finger of hate lashes out to an even greater degree. This recent article is worth your time and we ask your prayers: click here. Pray for God's spirit of truth to prevail.

4.  As we serve in our 13th year, we face critical opportunities to bring the Gospel to lost people. Now, more than ever, we must seize the initiative to boldly declare Y'shua and urgently equip God's people to do the same. Please pray that Christians will continue their sacrificial support of our mission work, and that of many other hard working agencies so that those who labor might be able to concentrate on their mission work and not worry over finances. We seek to make each dollar count. Your donations now will help speed us on the way: donate now

Shelley

Shelley reports on her participation with us in Israel:

A Sabra (native born Israeli) Living in Kansas - Early in the campaign partnered with a Sabra named Tsachi.  I love to learn from other people and listen to how they talk to strangers on the street.  Tsachi was speaking in Hebrew.  Since I could only catch one in twenty words, I continued to hand out tracts and ask people, "Do you speak English".  A man with an Israeli accent said he did.  I asked him where he was from and he said Kansas.  "We're neighbors", I exclaimed, "I live in Missouri!"  He smiled in amusement.  He said he is a Sabra and was visiting his family.  I asked him who he thought Jesus is.  He told me he believes in Jesus.  I was surprised.

He uncurled a book he had under his arm and asked if I could read the name of the book.  In my baby Hebrew read that it was a NT.  He said he had just met with Ze'ev a few hours ago.  Ze'ev is a Jewish believer in Jesus.  In our conversation I could tell that he was investigating Jesus at this point.  He asked me for my telephone number.  He said his Gentile girlfriend in Kansas will want to speak to me.  I asked him why would his girlfriend in Kansas want to speak to me.  He said that she is a Gentile Believer in Jesus and will want me to tell her how to talk to him about Jesus in a Jewish way.  This sounds like a God-incidence!  Praise God.

Daniel - I spoke with a 20 year old Israeli man for a while.  He was interested in discussing how to recognize Messiah when he comes.  He accepted the Book of Matthew in Hebrew to further investigate.  A photo was taken of the two of us talking.  On closer examination of the photo I noticed that on the pole that I was leaning on was the name of Jesus written backwards.  How interesting that this is the very spot that Daniel chained his bike and the Name of Messiah Jesus was lifted up!  May He draw Daniel and ALL men unto Him!!!
