The Apple of His Eye Mission Society will be leading an historic first ever LCMS direct evangelism outreach in Tel Aviv beginning in January 2009. The State of Israel, founded in 1948, has a population of 7 million people. Six million are Jewish, and one of every six Israelis is a Russian speaker. 99% of the world's 13 million Jewish people do not yet confess Jesus. This is NOT because they have rejected Him, rather they have never seriously considered Him.
We seek your prayers for the team going there including Steve & Nancy Cohen, Alan Butterworth, and Rev. Alexey Shepelev from Moscow. Several volunteers will also be joining us.
How to pray:
1. For protection against the spiritual warfare that mounts before such an event;
2. For wisdom in dealing with counter-missionaries and their threats against those who will declare the Gospel;
3. For Christians to see the urgency of this mission effort and their willingness to underwrite the mission costs.
