Concerts, Classes, Spring Argentina Tour, & More!
So good to be back with you to share the news of my new
Argentina Jewish Heritage Tour, my fall/winter concert and class schedule, and much more. I love keeping in touch with you via Facebook and other social networks including LinkedIn, Plaxo, & Twitter. My recordings are on Amazon, CD Baby, itunes, CD Universe, and of course you can always keep in touch with me via my own website, joyfulnoise.net, which I update daily.
In this newsletter, you'll read of my recently-announced Spring 2010 Argentina Heritage Tour for April 19-May 2, 2010 (departure from USA on
April 18, 2010), with an additional 5-day extension tour of the magnificent North Argentina
Region of Salta through May 7, 2010. I hope you'll also visit my new
Jewish Argentina section of my website, with extensive links to resources and a new Jewish Argentina history section that I am completing in stages.
Earlier this year I described the development of the new one-woman dramatization of Edna Ferber by St. Petersburg playwright Jan Taylor entitled Edna Ferber: Magic or Madness? which premiered in April as part of Eckerd College's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) programming and has been presented on six campuses of Eckerd OLLI to a fabulous repsonse. What a joy it has been to work on this project, in which I have had the privilege of dramatizing the amazing Edna Ferber in many of her own words via the work of playwright Jan Taylor. The production is now scheduled in January for two additional Eckerd OLLI campus performances (in St. Pete and Clearwater), and I will share word of additional performances in coming newsletters as well as on my site. View my current schedule of appearances via my online calendar here.
I continue to complete my own studio CD projects as well as producing projects of other artists recording in our studios. If you are interested in knowing more about our studio, let me know. We have created many music, spoken word, and live concert productions here in addition to my own work.
Warmly, Joy · www.joyfulnoise.net

Spectacular Argentina Heritage Tour 14 days/13 nights Buenos Aires, Entre Rios, & Iguazu Falls, April 19-May 2, 2010
The preparation for my new
Argentina Jewish Heritage Tour for April 19-May 2, 2010 (departure from USA on
April 18, 2010), with an additional 5-day extension tour of the North Argentina
Region of Salta through May 7, 2010 has been several months in the making. Additionally, I have launched my new
Jewish Argentina Section of my website, with extensive links to Jewish
Argentina history and resources, here.
This 14 day/13 night
luxury land tour includes Buenos Aires, 3 days with the Jewish Gaucho
Colonies of Entre Rios Province, and 3 days at stunning Iguazu Falls and Iguazu
Falls National Park from both Argentina and Brazil. I have devoted much
attention to creating a spectacular itinerary of both Argentine and Jewish
experience with Jewish tour experts in Argentina and with Sophia's Travel,
specialists in Jewish travel worldwide. I'll be escorting this tour as
Scholar-In-Residence throughout both the main tour and extension tour.

 We'll visit numerous
Buenos Aires districts and landmarks, including Puerto Madero, Recoleta,
Palermo Viejo, and San Telmo. We'll see a Tango Dinner show, experience local
markets, monuments, and Argentina's wealth of historic architecture. We'll
enjoy a full-day Tigre Delta Tour and visit historic synagogues, memorials, and
the Holocaust Museum of Buenos Aires. We'll visit the historic district of
Once, often called Argentina's Lower East Side, as well as the workshop and art
studio of the renowned Jewish Argentine Kabbalistic artist Mirta Kupferminc --
whose work is currently on exhibit at Hebrew Union College in New York. Our
tour includes Kabbalat Shabbat services, meals, tours, and activities with the
historic Jewish colonies of Entre Rios Province and in Buenos Aires. We'll
spend 3 full days in the spectacular Iguazu Falls region soaking in the sights
and sounds of the stunning falls -- among the world's most beautiful -- and the
nationally protected area surrounding the falls, both in Brazil and Argentina.
Our Buenos Aires hotel, from which we are based for 8 nights, is the exquisite
and magnificently located 5-star Claridge Boutique Hotel. Our first-class
4-star hotels in Villaguay and Iguazu Falls offer exceptional locations, views,
amenities and comfort. Along with escorting you as Scholar-In-Residence, I'll
be joined by local guides and Jewish scholars providing personalized attention.
This tour is truly a magnificent experience for the entire family.
This virtually all-inclusive land tour, including all
domestic flights, accommodations, activities, guides, private coach, transfers,
taxes, and most meals is $5485. Receive an additional $200 discount if you
provide your reservation and deposit by November 15th. Take an additional 3%
discount on the entire tour if you provide payment by check or wire transfer.

Joy's Neat News & Recommended Reading
I
love to share discoveries I make on the internet as well as news of
friends and colleagues. If you have neat news you would like me to
share,
please email me to tell me about it!
Over 1000 musicians, including myself, contributed to The Spiritual Significance of Music, an anthology of interviews that has been production over the last 4 years. This wonderful book may be pre-ordered here and will be available December 1st, 2009.
My friend Richard Grimolizzi of Tarpon Springs, FL is one of the finest piano technicians I know. He has been the tuner and service technician for my studio grand piano for nearly two decades, and I would like to highly recommend his services to you. Check out his website. Rich is also a terrific jazz pianist himself.
The National Museum of American Jewish History is projected to open in Fall 2010 on Independence Mall in Philadelphia. Read about the future museum, view video clips and photos. You can even view a live camera shot of the new museum's construction. Subscribe to the newsletter for updates on the museum opening, coming exhibits, and online exhibits from the site as well.
Give a powerful and meaningful gift ... Plant a Tree in the name of someone you love... In Israel with the Jewish National Fund with the Arbor Day Foundation with the Nature Conservancy with Plant a Tree USA with American Forests with Eco-Libris
Karma Kitchen is a restaurant with no prices on the menu that allows its patrons to pay whatever they desire for their meals or to pay by volunteering their services, as well as to "pay it forward" for customers who cannot afford to purchase a meal. It's a heartwarming story ... see the video & their site.
Baby Blue Arts is a group of Minnesota volunteers dedicated to providing a visual showcase for Minnesota's highly talented musicians and performers. My friend Joe Vass, pianist and composer with his group Klezmerica, recorded live in the baby Blue Arts studio. The wonderful, moving performances of his original compositions, Tango De Klezmerica, Bulka's Song, and Song Of Ruth, along with the Gershwin standard, I Got Rhythm, can be viewed online - along with performances of other Minnesota artists - here.
