COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER CORNER
|
|
In June, the Community Health Workers, studying in HPP Volunteer Maureen
Aggeler's writing class, read some of their work aloud at the writing class graduation.
Maureen had assigned them to read Robert Frost's The Death of the Hired Man, and requested that they write a poem or paragraph about home.
Here is Sarena Luckett's poem:
"Home"
A place where I am
comfortable
I lay my head there; I'm
always welcome
It brings me peace,
serenity, love, happiness
Children play, there are
cookouts, barbBQ birthdays, holidays
Home also brings dark
nights
Stress, tears, anger, heartaches, and arguments
Through the good and the
bad, home is where
I can be myself, express
myself any way I like
Home is my safe haven.
