Dear Visionary Leader,

Indonesia is nearly 30% Christian! There is a sweeping, weeping and reaping revival taking place throughout this beautiful nation. We were fortunate to partner with Pastor Alex Tanuseputra last week at the Billion Soul Summit at Bethany Church.

During the Billion Soul Summit, we heard remarkable testimonies as to what our Lord is doing throughout the Asian world. Nearly 9,000 pastors joined during the day sessions, with the nightly audience swelling to approximately 20,000. Every pastor who attended received a Billion Soul Scholarship to the Global Church Learning Center. Plans are already underway to advance pastoral training and synergy between denominations with another Billion Summit next year.

Bethany Church represents another powerful HUB of Global Christianity. In the months ahead, 35 HUBS will be connected to further synergize efforts to double the size of the Global Church and finish the Great Commission in the 21st Century. These global hubs of Christianity stretch throughout every world region, like a majestic mountain range.

Thirty-five years ago, Pastor Alex Tanuseputra pioneered Bethany Church in Surabaya, Indonesia. Today, the Bethany Church family averages at least 218,000, with a consistent growth of 800 new baptized believers each month! Plans are underway to build a 150,000 seat coliseum on fifty acres in the heart of Surabaya.

I learned at least three life lessons from Pastor Alex:

1. Humility is the door to teach-ability. Over the years I have seen this time and time again. Alex would often say, "I am nothing." Great people don't know they are great! They just go out and do great things.
2. Build your church from the sound up. Alex is very much involved in the training of his worship teams at Bethany Church. He does not delegate "the worship experience" but is involved in the maturing of this ministry.
3. Seize the moment. Over the years Alex made double sure to maximize the moments that are before him. He already has his successor in place and is focused on impacting his nation as much as possible in his golden years.

Before any of the Westerns say, "We cannot see similar results in North America," let's us remember that Bethany Church is in a Muslim nation that is becoming a Christian nation! Blessings.
