Players and Fans
It may still be cold in much of the country,
but to me it smells like beach tennis
weather! We are full-on into our preparations
to kick off our fifth season of pro and
recreational beach tennis. This year's tour
will consist of 10 events in Florida,
California, South Carolina, and New York. Our
first tournament will be held in Clearwater,
FL, March 21-22. Click
here to register today.
We've just returned from an amazing expo at
Superbowl XLIII, where we set up shop with
AVP at the ESPN The Magazine Interactive
Zone. The crowd's response to beach tennis
was overwhelming. I'd like to thank our pro
players--Nadia Johnston, Nicole Melch, Brett
Johnson, and Mike Edison for making it a
killer event.
The beach tennis movement is growing every
day with new
Team Beach Tennis leagues and
"Places
2 Play" popping up all over the
country. To learn how you can join the
movement, contact Melissa Gibson by clicking
here.
In addition to our National Tour, we'll also
be participating in a several high profile
exhibition events including a return to The
Sony Ericsson Open in March. This will be
a 10-day event featuring seven days of
interactive programming, open play, and
clinics, followed by a three-day pro,
invitational tournament. This will also be
the first event we co-produce with our new
South Florida licensee group, comprised of
well-known beach tennis pros Pablo Arraya,
Joe Testa, and Ric Simeon. We'll also
be Panama City, FL for most of Spring Break
at Sharkey's
Restaurant and Tiki Bar.
Remember to check our web site often for new
video, photos, and tour updates. We've added
a lot of new content in the past months,
including three new blogs--The
Pro Corner,
The
Rec Room, and Zach
Smart's Sports Blog.
And of course you can keep up to speed on all
things beach tennis by subscribing to our
audio
and video
podcasts.
Please share this newsletter with all your
beach tennis friends by scrolling to the
bottom and using the "Forward" link. Here's to
an amazing 2009 season! Come join
