Serve's Up!
July 2008
Players and Fans

If you weren't in Hermosa Beach, CA for the SoCal Series Slam, you missed an amazing event! This tournament had, by far, the highest level of beach tennis competition we've seen since the sport was launched in 2005. Hermosa Beach and the entire South Bay area has also become a real hotbed for new beach tennis talent. Regular pick-up play can be found on 8th Street in Hermosa Beach every weekend. To get in on the action, contact Joe Testa at joetesta@hotmail.com.

The tour now moves east to New York as we gear up for the 2008 BTUSA National Championship in Long Beach, New York, Aug 30-31. Players have a chance to test the waters before then by competing in the BTUSA Tri-State Open on Aug 9-10 in Long Beach. Click here for more information and to register to play.

Carolina Beach Tennis is holding their second event of the season at the Charleston Open, August 16, at the Windjammer on the Isle of Palms. If you've never been to Charleston before, you need to check it out. This is where the first beach tennis seeds were planted in the U.S. Click here to register for this event.

Remember, you don't have to be a "pro" to play at these events. We always have an amateur division at every BTUSA tournament. And if you just want to check the sport out, we have free open play at every event. We'll even supply the racquets and balls. You bring the suntan lotion.
