reflection section ~ feed back the feedback
|
|
|
On another website where I write a column for the NY Yankees' YESNetwork.com, readers are allowed to post comments. I receive a few here and there but not any huge amount. That's okay. My editor assures me that plenty of baseball fans read the column and that's good enough to know.
Please understand that It's not for my ego that I would prefer more comments, not really. It is because as humans we need feedback from others to help guide our way. Are we on track? Are we doing this right? What do they think of this or that? Feedback comes in two forms: constructive criticism or praise. It's feedback nevertheless.
And like we prefer feedback, it is our jobs as bosses, friends and moms to provide feedback to others (well, within reason!) to help guide their way. So if we expect it (so it helps us to move forward), we may want to consider feeding back more feedback - to help others advance as well.
What do you think? :-)

A sexy woman approached the bar in a pub, gesturing alluringly to the bartender. He approached immediately. She seductively signaled to bring his face closer to hers. She gently caressed his full beard.
"Are you the manager?" she asked, softly stroking his face with both hands, looking into his eyes.
"Actually no," he stammered.
"Could you please get him for me?" she asked with a bat of her eyelashes as she ran her hands through his hair.
"I'm afraid he's not here right now," breathed the bartender. "Is there something I can do for you?"
"Yes," she said, "give him a message," and she touched her fingers to his lips.
"What should I tell him?" the bartender managed to say.
"Tell him," she whispered, "there's no toilet paper, hand soap, or paper towels in the ladies room."
