Greetings!
One year ago this month, we launched the Project Ignite Program. Today we have reached more than 200 people through our technology forums and are kicking Year 2 off with our Simplicity Program to assist small nonprofits with their technology solutions. Also, one year ago we formed our Managed Services group to deliver consistent, high-quality support and advisory services business to nonprofits. Today, we are servicing 14 clients and excited about the continued growth in this area. Digital Ball 2010 will again be the premier, not-to-miss technology event April 24 with outstandng support from the technology community. Read on for more information about all the events surrounding the Digital Ball 2010 and what's going on at NPower. Chris Meade

Habitat for Humanity Uses Technology to Broaden Connections with Volunteers Like many Habitat for Humanity affiliates, Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte faces a unique challenge when it comes to interacting with their volunteers. Typically, a group that wants to help build a Habitat home will elect a group leader, who coordinates work schedules with the Habitat organization.
This means that Habitat has contact with only about 5 percent of their volunteers, which limits their ability to quickly mobilize their supporters or convert regular volunteers into donors. It's a challenge they believe the technology solution under development in the Project Ignite Volunteer Management Collaboration Group will solve.
"Our technology solution opens up possibilities in terms of the way we interact with volunteers because we'll have more information on them," said Beth Van Gorp, the volunteer coordinator with HFH of Charlotte. "It will enable us to contact them by e-mail and drive them to our Web site for updates on builds."
