and HEAR OUR SPECIAL GUEST TONIGHT

Victoria Deasy, M.S., Ed. has been a special education teacher for over 36 years and specialized in working with deaf children, birth on up. She teaches deaf children to listen and speak, using techniques of Auditory-Verbal Therapy. Many of the children she teaches had more than simple hearing loss and many had multiple diagnosis. In addition she has worked in Rome, Italy, working with kids with every kind of disability: deafness, deafness with autism, traumatic brain injury, cleft palate, cerebral palsy....

"Then, I adopted my son almost 18 years ago. He was diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (now FASD) and not much that I had learned up to that point prepared me for raising my son!  I felt like I was left completely alone, had to do my own research, had to find my own solutions. I am now an 'mom expert' in many topics, including nutrition, brain chemistry, therapeutic parenting, FASD, autism, neuro-developmental disorders, neuro-reorganization and much, much more."

Victoria has a private practice, working with deaf children and their families, consulting on all aspects of special education, serving as an advocate for parents and the schools and is an EFT Practitioner (EFT being a way to relieve stress, help regulate emotions, improve learning, etc.)

For those who have enjoyed reading Victoria's wisdom on the list serves now is your chance to hear her live!
  • What she wished all parents knew to help raise intense children
  • IEP's why so many chldren fall through the cracks
  • EFT? What is it and does it work for you
