 5. Commit to what you say
If you tell your kids the night before you are leaving the house at 7am for a workout, you better follow through! How can your kids understand health & working out is a priority if you don't make it one? Your kids will learn that nothing gets in the way of Mom's workouts, but it starts with YOU!

4. Do not beat yourself up
Having your children witness you being hard on yourself is one of the most dangerous things you can do. Kids learn by example and if they learn the only way to improve is to criticize & beat themselves up, that is a habit they will carry forever. Be kind to yourself and teach your kids that even though sometimes it's hard to do we must be very loving with the way we treat ourselves.

3. Use your words wisely
 Stay away from saying "fat", "skinny", "gross", to describe the way you look. Rather use empowering words like "strong", "fit", "healthy" to describe how you feel. If we ONLY use empowering words about what our bodies can do our children will follow.

4. Live in Balance
 Eat clean & healthy 90% of the time. But show your kids its OK to enjoy food and have treats. Hit your workouts and work hard, but on occasion trade it in for a massage, an at home stretching session, or a picnic with your kids. Allow them to see what it is like to honor your body and give them opportunities to listen to their own bodies as well.

5. Place your health needs above your families wants.

This is the hardest of the 5!
