Prevent Claims! Tip
Mediate Claims for Low Cost Solutions
Brass keysJanuary 29, 2008
Greetings!

Lots of folks have heard of mediation but are not sure what it really is.  This week's Prevent Claims! Tip will give you a quick primer on what mediation is and why we recommend it as a low cost, efficient way of solving problems.  An adept mediator is the key to resolving disputes quickly.
Mediators are third party neutrals who guide parties to an agreed-on resolution.

In mediations, the parties only reach agreement if they are guided to a mutually satisfactory solution by the mediator.  They, not a judge or jury, determine an outcome they like.  It's win-win, unlike lawsuits where one party necessarily loses and the other one wins.  Here are some other advantages of mediation over litigation.

Mediation is a time-saver, often completed in a day or two.
Mediation builds trust between parties rather than tearing it down.
Mediated solutions are likely to be more creative since the parties have designed the solutions themselves.

Mediation saves money and time.

Most lawsuits are brought by former employees.  Consider making mediation mandatory to resolve such disputes and save your company a bundle!

If you would like to make mediation a more prominent tool in your claims resolution arsenal, please feel free to give us a call.  And if you have any claims pending, give some thought to submitting them to a mediator who might get the problem solved a lot quicker than you think possible.

Thank you as always for your support and referrals!

Cordially,

Beville
