The New York Knicks just settled a sexual harassment claim for $11.5 million after a jury awarded punitive damages of $11.6 million.  By settling, they avoided an appeal, but little can erase the public relations blemish that results from this whopping sum.

The average regional jury award -- after judges reduce runaway jury awards like the one above -- is $320,500.  This figure is based on a recent analysis of cases along the East Coast corridor.  Awards in California will be much higher, and awards in the northern mid-west United States will be significantly lower.

So, unless you have $320,500 that you just don't need, listen up!
