Greetings!

We are well into a season of change--reflected in both the natural environment, as well as the economic climate. Global economic rebalancing, occurring now and for years to come, will demand more innovation from US companies who face emerging global competition, so we continue our series (see September InSIGHT).

In this edition, we look at grassroots innovation by empowered employees, who use social, cloud, video and mobile consumer tools to solve business problems. Leaders at Forrester Research are tracking this as an important source of innovation and call for IT leaders to recognize and work with it in a new way. For those who are grappling with the challenges of getting enterprise data to their users' smartphones, we offer guidance for developing your mobile strategy. We have also compiled the 6 best and 6 worst fast food choices, as a guide for staying on track health wise.

At Software Consortium, we continue to help our clients leverage technology via advice, real projects, real solutions and the right people. As one of our clients recently told us, "you guys really know your stuff!"

All the best,
Janet
