Greetings!
We hope you are enjoying your summer. My family and I enjoyed a dream vacation to Paris and Barcelona this summer to celebrate our oldest child's graduation from college. Our trip to France and Spain brought more evidence of the global rebalancing brought on by the Great Recession.
In this edition, we focus on how mobile technologies are impacting consumer behavior and businesses world wide, along with talent differences that generational views can bring to the work place, and on a lighter international note, there's good health news for cofee and tea drinkers around the globe. As the recovery continues and more opportunities emerge overseas, we at Software Consortium continue to help our clients see the business perspective on technologies, such as mobile, that will make them more successful. For 19 years, we have conducted seminars, helped clients leverage technologies, project management and leadership to their projects and teams.
All the best,
Janet

Mobile Drives Shift in Consumer Behavior
A July report from Forrester Research finds that "smartphones have changed shopping behavior significantly."
The message from Forrester: Firms must assess their mobile strategies now and decide upon when--not if--they should launch new mobile products and services. What does this trend mean for your business and project planning?

As Charles Darwin said "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change."

As human beings, our flight or fight response to external threats serves us quite well when our survival is threatened. However, in today's world, our instinctive response to stress and threats can result in decreased abilities to think new thoughts as we automatically prepare to defend ourselves. Senior IT managers and leaders need their best thinking and fully engaged teams to make their IT departments effective today and in the future. In this seminar, you will learn how you can systematically become more effective at leading today's multigenerational workforce.
Gain practical tools you can use immediately:
- Knowledge about core areas of competency for developing your ideals in leadership, leading to higher job satisfaction and productivity for you and your team;
- Self awareness of how your emotions and energy can impact yourself and others, in both positive and negative ways;
- Techniques to rejuvenate yourself during times of stress;
- Advice, support and practical learning from other attendees, who are facing similar challenges.
Join us for this interactive half day seminar and come away with new energy to inspire yourself and your team.
