Annual BNF & Parish Nurse Retreat Refreshed us!
|
Our annual Fall Retreat was a blessing for all who attended! Ashton Chunn massaged away our stresses, while Sue Pearson, helped us find creative ways to reduce the stress in our professional and personal lives. Not only did we receive a blessing by being at the Retreat, we provided lots of hygiene product and Bibles for the prison ministry at the Calhoun County Jail.
Here's what you said...
"I came to the retreat tired and feeling as if I needed a drink of cold, fresh water in my soul. I found it and I came home renewed and ready to meet the week head." Evelyn
"This was my first BNF Retreat. I felt welcomed from the very beginning. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I especially liked the session that dealt with caretaking vs. care giving. Thanks to Pat, my friend and mentor, for inviting me! I plan on attending the Parish Nurse Class in the spring and becoming active with this group!" Linda
"It was a great retreat...a real good time of enrichment and information. God bless each of you in your daily lives." Marilyn
"I thought it was very educational and the best fellowship among Christian Ladies that I have been around in a long time." Sharon
"I loved the reflection time at the very end! VERY GOOD!" Debbie

Kenya Relief
Kenya Relief has 48 acres of land in the province of Migori, Africa. The compound houses 116 orphans who are cared for both physically and spiritually by the staff. Many of these children lost their parents in the Aids Pandemic that is ravaging Africa today.
Our team of twenty-two arrived in Kenya on Saturday evening. Sunday church was an awesome spirit-filled worship service. Myself and other team members lead the Bible studies that morning.
Monday clinics began in the new Brase Clinic. It has triage rooms, a lab, an OR, pharmacy, pre-op, surgical evaluation rooms, and an equipment sterilization room. Brase clinic is a wonderful facility, quite unlike other hospitals in the rural villages. We saw over 800 patients in our time there. It was such a blessing to me and our team to see the gratitude of those we ministered to and to know that while they were receiving physical healing and help, we were also bringing them Jesus Christ to heal their spirits. Seven children prayed to receive Christ during our trip.
This trip helped me realize again, "That we have been blessed to bless others! This is only a taste of all that the Lord did." Jan Burton, Tennessee Valley BNF
