Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.
Henry Ford
Inspirations never go in for long engagements; they demand immediate marriage to action. Brendan Francis
Love life, engage in it, give it all you've got. Love it with a passion, because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it. Maya Angelou |

As writers, we know the power words have to engage. The key is to have enough words to drive desire without dulling the message. Visual storytelling can make all the difference.
Here's proof positive: In a University of Michigan study, one group of participants was given instructions with images, the other had text only. When they were quizzed on the instructions, more than 45% of the "images" group got perfect scores; just 6% of the "text only" group did that well.
From iPad apps to animations, we think as much about how the story will be told in images as in narration or text. Here's a recent example for Ecolab that we did with PLDG.

Funding Creativity
These day s, if you want to get something done, one of the best ways to do so is to crowdsource it. If you need cash to create the next blockbuster video game, a poetry anthology or an original play, look no further than Kickstarter. With this funding platform for creative projects, you simply find something you want to support and make a pledge. If enough people pledge to support the stated funding goal within a set period of time, it's a go. You can even start your own project. Your family and friends want to see you write the next Great American Novel, right? |
According to recent data released from bit.ly, posting links to Twitter between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Central will give you the highest click rank, especially on earlier days in the week. For Facebook, links sent between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. get the most traction, with Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. being the best time to post during the week. We're going to test it out! Summer Reading at High Point Creative
If you're not too busy reading Fifty Shades of Something or Other this summer, you might want to check out a few interesting nonfiction books that we're into right now. BLAH BLAH BLAH: What To Do When Words Don't Work, is the latest by Dan Roam, author of the bestseller The Back of the Napkin. We heard him speak recently at the Confab 2012 conference, and we're thinking about words and visuals in a whole new way. We're also diving into Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art & Science of Remembering Everything by Joshua Foder; and How to Measure Anything: Finding the Value of Intangibles in Business by Douglas W. Hubbard. |
GE Capital - Sales Support Materials
High Point recently helped GE Capital create a white paper and sell sheet to use for several trade shows. Using a friendly question and answer format as well as smart stats and a mini case study, the materials educated customers about the benefits of offering financing. We met a critical deadline and when we followed up later, the client said, "The sales team loves the materials and has used them a lot at recent shows!"
