Crisp

"Life starts all over again when it when it gets crisp in the fall."

F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Great Gatsby

"It is, in my view, the duty of an apple to be crisp and crunchable, but a pear should have such a texture as leads to silent consumption."

Edward Bunyard

The Anatomy of Dessert

And now for something completely different:

A 5-star recipe for Parmesan Crisps

Fall 2011

Woof. Zip. Slash. Cuckoo. Gurgle. Crisp. All are words that sound like the objects they name or the sounds those objects make. So why does the name for these ingenious words, onomatopoeia, have to be so ... clunky?

Leadership Lessons from Burning Man

What can Burning Man teach business? Fast Company recently featured lessons that the iconic festival in the Nevada desert has for the business community. Like creating culture. Motivating with autonomy. Rewarding people with appreciation rather than money. The article is both inspiring and challenging -- just like Burning Man. High Point Creative Director Maiya Willits recently got back from her first visit and she's still happily trying to figure out what it all means.

Fourth Time's the Charm

If you rely on your iPad as much as we do, you may be interested to know these tips that help you work even more productively and far less frustratingly. One of our favorites? You can copy text by double tapping a word. But when you want to copy a whole paragraph, tap the text four times.

Word Wise
The Short, Short, Short Story

Talk about crisp: A short story in exactly 78 words? That was the gauntlet Esquire Magazine threw down last month, with a contest inspired by the magazine's 78th birthday. While the writers at High Point didn't make the submission deadline (something about those work deadlines getting in the way) it's an idea we're intrigued by, and we look forward to reading the winning entries. Oh, yeah -- darned if this little blurb doesn't clock in at exactly 78 words!

Jeremiah Program Annual Report
Award-Winning Annual Report for an Amazing Program

Jeremiah Program is a leading non-profit organization proven to help single mothers and their children break the cycle of generational poverty. High Point Creative wrote the content for the organization's annual report this year, working in partnership with Peggy Lauritsen Design Group (PLDG). The annual report won a silver award from the Creativity International Awards for print and packaging.

We are now partnering with PLDG to update the content on Jeremiah Program's website, bringing a fresh, crisp approach to this amazing organization's story.
